Payment Processor options?
I am based in the USA and have a few site ideas I would like to test before starting an incorporation and paying the VISA/MC registration fees..
Are there any options where I don't have to jump through these hoops just to test my ideas? I have done quite a bit of searching on the forum via search options but things change.. |

Give Zombaio a shot. They've had struggles in the past but things are looking up.
Verotel is another option but you need to do x amount a week to avoid the Visa/MC fee. |

If the volume is sufficient -- make a commitment to a regular merchant account. Some merchant accounts have low monthly volume thresholds. Try bumping this thread after the holidays if you do not get some replies from the processing guys ![]() |

I am not an affiliate and do not have any sales volume to prove. Any other options for me?
I am trying to avoid getting an incorporation just to test this idea. Quote:

What country are you in?
Can't you just set up a DBA (assumed name, doing business as) in your county then incorporate later? That costs less that $50 in most USA states. |

Yeah, CCBill or Verotel should work well. Depending on what type of billing you need. Some platforms require a little more complex billing.
However the last I checked CCBill still required a fee. It's actually not them charging the fee, it's Visa/Mastercard. Of course you could try stripe.com or even paypal.com <- now this is not very good advice because your account will most likely be suspended within a week or so, but if you just want to test to see if the idea is viable before fully investing then you may want to consider it. Unfortunately, to truly know whether your idea has legs, it may take a while. I have built successful sites, but it's not like in the early 2000's. It can literally take a solid year to start earning a decent profit. My first site was in 2000. Back then you could sell anything. And BTW PayPal was processing for adult back then.. It was a good time to be in the biz.. |

CCBill is a very good option, but yes ..you would have to pay the Visa/Mastercard fee. However, I have been using them now for 12 years and I have always been very satisfied with their processing. I also use SegPay as a secondary processor, but they also charge the fee. But as someone else stated, I have always been told that it's not even the processors that charge the fee, but the credit card companies. So yeah, I don't know.

CCBill is the only one I have found that processes for my mail order (tangible goods) DVDs... which are not "risk"... besides processing for memberships and digital downloads (which ARE risk).
Theoretically, PayPal should work even for Adult DVDs, but not sure I have the stomach to try again. You can also accept Payoneer and Paxum P2P. Just read the details about accepting payments from other card/account holders on each.
