Tech Help! Downgrading Windows 10 on Factory Install

I bought a new computer for the office and it came with Windows 10 factory installed. My entire office uses either Windows 7 or Mac OS without any problems. However, the new computer can't see other devices on the network. I researched it, and it appears to be a bug with Windows 10. I want to format the HD and do a fresh install of Windows 7, but I don't have any available activation keys for Windows 7. Will the Windows 10 activation key work for Windows 7? I remember with older versions of Windows, you could install on several computers with the same key, is that still possible?

I also have no experience with Windows 10. Will a downgrade to Windows 7 fuck up anything as far as drivers, etc? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am interested too as I am about to buy some new computers and I don't want Windows 10! But I think the best that can be done is downgrading to Windows 8 (not 7) but would love to hear some opinions on this.

Windows 10 sucks cock AND ass.

Also you will need Win 7 drivers - but make sure to check if they are available first.

All of our computers are running Win10 with no issues. In fact, I am really liking Windows 10.

if you are only doing this to get in network, then stop. and so more research, MS cant be that stupid, if they are then they will prolly fix it soon.

first check whther hardware has drivers for windows 7.

then do format and install, buy a windows 7 lincense . idk if they are still selling it.

A friend told me to take one of my old Windows 7 machines that have been retired, and just use its Windows 7 license. If the old computer is DOA, then it shouldn't matter which system I run Windows 7 on, since I already paid for the license.

That is the first thing that makes sense in this thread. You are entitled to one license key per computing unit -- you paid for it.

Better keep in mind that the newest generation of Intel processors won't work to their fullest capability on anything lower than Windows 10.

If you are doing intense computing...Win 10 is the only way to go with Windows.

I'm thinking that has to do with the latest generation of processors. Different technology.

Next-Gen CPUs Will Only Support Windows 10 | News & Opinion | PCMag.com

Old OS systems aren't meant for the newest chip technology. Downgrade at your own risk.

Your better off to embrace the newest stuff so you aren't left high and dry when you eventually have to buy a new computer.

I'm running Windows 10 64 bit pro and it is a really good OS. And yes, I like it even better than 7 which up until that point was the best one Windows had. 8 kinda sucked. But 10 is awesome.

Been using 10 since the first day it was released June 24 while it might have been not quite ready for prime time it certainly is now. I have not had a crash in months and I leave this 6 year old laptop on 24/7.

I run Sony Vegas, Photoshop, and have many other programs running at the same time. No problem at all.

Give it a chance and you will find out that there are so many improvements over previous versions. I have never been more productive.
