Top Republicans move away from support pledge

Seems like Trump, Cruz, and Kasich all backed off their pledge to support the eventual nominee. LOL.

Takeaways from the GOP town hall - CNNPolitics.com

I didn't watch this, but I saw the highlights.... The best part was when Cooper was talking to Trump and Trump said "He started it first". Cooper came back with "That is the argument of a five year old". Sounds about right.

It's a shame that Kasich is a relgious nutter as he's the only guy they have with any sort of brains. However he then pisses it away with the entire anti abortion non sense and other relgious crap.

Cruz is just a disaster and Trump is biggest idiot.. If they had a show called the biggest idiot, Trump would be the host.

I agree. Kasich seems like the smartest guy... but yes they are all disasters.

I popped on CNN yesterday while I was getting ready for my bike ride and caught Cruz talking on the CNN town hall thing. He said something along the lines of.... "During the Iraq war in 1990 we flew thousands of sorties a day, but currently we are only flying hundreds of sorties against ISIS. We should be attacking their bases and convoys". It was painfully obvious that Cruz doesn't understand the difference between the Iraqi military in 1990 and modern day ISIS.

With the Iraqi Military, they had millions of men under arms - 4th largest standing army in the world in 1990 if I recall correctly - and had countless targets to go after... Bases, depots, communication hubs, ammo storage, barracks, training facilities, and such. We knew were they were for years, and because of our intel in the area we knew all of their back plans - where they would fall back to if attacked.

With ISIS we have NONE of that. They do not have bases, and live scattered in with civilians. They don't have tanks; They have pick up trucks - we cannot target Toyota pick up trucks.

It's scary that someone in Congress fails to understand the difference between fighting a modern army and a large terrorist group.

Rochard, why do you expect them to have a clue about anything other than spouting soundbites?

Maybe he does know, but what he says is better at getting votes.

Setting aside the fact that he is a candidate.... Cruz sites on the following Committees.....

Committee on Armed Services
Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities
Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support
Subcommittee on Seapower
Committee on the Judiciary
Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Human Rights
Subcommittee on Oversight, Federal Rights and Agency Activities (Chairman)
Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security
Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation
Subcommittee on Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security
Subcommittee on Science and Space (Chairman)
Committee on Rules and Administration
Special Committee on Aging

He is on the Committee on Armed Services yet does't understand the difference between the Iraqi army in 1990 and modern day ISIS. He is also on the "Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Human Rights" yet is talking about carpet bombing. LOL.

Years ago Baddog asked us to watch some committee hearing on CSPAN and I did, and one of the Senators who was in charge of the "Subcommittee on Science and Space" or something similar asked what email was. It's scary when someone who sits on a board like that doesn't have the first clue of how something works.

Not surprising, just another day at the clown parade.

It's funny watching the disintegration of the GOP.

It doesn't matter what side they are from. It's almost like they all completely incompetent.

That goes for most politicians. Few have ever held a real job and most American politicians are bought and paid for by big business.

Watched a documentary on Trump last night and it's clear why he appeals to so many. Over the last 50 years, the lower middle class and working class have become poorer and many out of a job. This is the majority section of voters.

Uncontrolled migration.
Uncontrolled population rise
Uncontrolled imports.
Uncontrolled export of jobs.
Automation.

Have all contributed to most being poorer. The existing parties have no solution and are often hand in hand with the process.

What the major concern for everyone? Family, future, health, security. The future for most American families looks bleak, Healthcare is a problem and rising crime always accompanies rising poverty.

This is who Trump appeals to.

Economic Forces Working Against Millennials - Are millennials really the first generation to do worse than their parents? | HowStuffWorks

Generation of 18-30s poorer than their forebears - FT.com

Gen Xers are poorer than their parents - Sep. 22, 2014

Deduct the top 10%, add inflation and the result is huge support for the Right Wing. Because for 40 years, it has been the politicians who betrayed their people and most have no intention of changing anything.

A US politician said it would cost $140 billion to remove illegal migrants. It can be done at a profit. Deport criminals back immediately. Fine companies and landlords so much it's more profitable to hire Americans. Applies to the illegal maid or gardener or Polish builders. Even give illegals who whistleblow a reward for informing the authorities. And give the Immigration Services enough money out of the fines to build their resources. Without jobs and homes, they will soon stop coming and start returning.

Will never happen because like most are getting poorer, a small number are getting very rich. And they own the politicians.

yes, should be disturbing to see how many women and children 'had it coming'

i mean, did these guys wake up one morning, look themselves in the mirror, think about all this racist and hate rhetoric

and whisper ever so softly.. 'i can do better than this.. why just mexicans, refugees and muslims? lets go after every vulnerable minority that exists'

Are you sure about that?

Where I'm from, we don't call those pickup trucks. I think ISIS is a better equipped than most people think. And that's just in the Middle East. That doesn't include the radicals they have spread all over the globe.

I loved it when he asked trump about the wife thing and he first denied it and said she was very pretty. Lol. So smug. The man gives zero fucks.

The funny thing is these politicians are so far removed from reality it's not funny.... Clinton said a few months ago she hasn't driven a car in over twenty years - Between being first lady, Senator, Secretary Of State.... She's always been driven.

At a certain point you have no idea what it is really like to be an American.
