Difference between Phillips Sonicare models?

Many many years ago I bought the following model, it is a lower-level model: Amazon.com : Philips Sonicare Essence Power Toothbrush : Sonic Toothbrushes : Beauty

I still use it and it seems to be working fine for me, but I've been curious about some of their newer models and if there would be any real gains in upgrading. All the comparisons that I see on the newer models talk about manual brushing, they are not comparisons between product and product.

This one looks really nice and has quite a few bells and whistles, but can I expect any real increase in performance? Amazon.com : Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Sonic Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush, Black, HX9352/04 : Sonic Toothbrushes : Beauty

Anyone do a good comparison?

The Sonicare you have is an excellent model and I don't think you're going to see much difference, at least not enough to justify the money.

Have you considered adding a waterflosser to your regimen? These things kick ass...

Amazon.com: Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser, WP-660: Beauty

The dental hygienist recommended one. Have you seen improvement in your plaque and calculus? My plaque is fine, I have a bit of a calculus issue though due to crowding.

Thanks to Costco and Fry's I've been able to try all the models. Given the intensity setting and correct brush size for your mouth, the results are the same. Overall, what you're getting are features and accessories.

Mine is broken and already looking in a lot of shops, can't get them here in Brazil. I had the same one as you and also newer model. Newer model has simpler brushes, not the whole thing with a magnet. That magent alway got full of dirt and has to be cleaned. The new one hasn't that problem. I liked the newest better.. But mine works 2 years and than i need a new one.

I also think it is the best vibrator to travel, girls like the sonic vibrations I should upgrade and use this one for .. travelling..

I had that same Sonicare, liked it, it gave me a clean feeling but it also made my teeth very sensitive I'm thinking the brush itself wasn't very soft. I'd personally rather use one with a spinning brush tho.

Also get a waterpic those are great

Lazy fucks.

What's wrong with brushing your teeth with a regular toothbrush and toothpaste. Works better than any machine because you can look in your mouth and concentrate on dirty areas.

Being British I don't bother to ever brush my teeth... If I did, my peers would bully me even more than they do already...

I've used a sonic brush, flosser and manual brushing for decades. At 65 my dentists are still amazed I have so many teeth left. Even after radiation on my mouth.

I recommend them all.

yes, they just clean better than an toothbrush from last century.
My dentist also says my teeth are better than before the sonicare.
So it saved me many appointments by the dentist.

Here in Brazil there aren't many electric toothbrush.
I saw one Philips store and they had everthing, except the sonicare teethbrush
When south america starts brushing electric, Philips will get a huge extra profit.
I think here maybe 5% use electric while in Holland at least 80%
