Who here likes betting on the horses?
I placed a bet on the grand national £1 I think to win and won about £30.
It's now sat in an online account at WH and instead of withdrawing it I am enjoying placing £0.50 EW bets I also just placed a £0.20 spread over some soccer matches. I know nothing about Football. The bookies do seem to be willing though as my account is going down, not up so I am looking for tips. I expect WHP to know some insider info. |

My Grandfather was a bookies runner in the UK. In 1948, he had skimmed enough to amass £25,000. In those days, these were the prices.
All prices are in old money, Bus fare (kids) 1/2d Chips 1d Fish 3d Ford Popular £80 (3 year waiting list) Fairly good semi house £750 The average weekly wage was £7.28. Gambling is a mugs game. |
