What is the Highest Mountain you've climbed?

What's its name, how high is it and how long ago did you climb?

I heave myself out of bed from time to time. That effort is equal to climbing a mountain to me...

I don't like to make threads all about me, but since you asked

Snowdon, 1,038 m (3,560 ft), yesterday

Nothing special compared to what some of you guys must have done, only slightly interesting bit is that I'm 115kg

Snowdon is a good one, did it 20 years ago with family I have in Wales.
Did you have good weather?
The views are amazing.

That would keep you fit living there, how long did the climb take you?

Must have been easy for you by your standards, yes the weather was perfect, amazing views, I've returned with a lobster face and a funny walk, but no regrets. It's been over 10 years since I last went up, I was a lot fitter back then.

About 9 hours, with a few rests though.

I don't do any other exercise, about 40 miles a week up and down mountains in the summer. Winter not so much because of the snowline. But we still go up there cause the dog loves the snow, just not higher than about 1200 mt though.

Does driving count? 11,158 ft (3,401 m)+- The Continental Divide in the Rockies.
When they were building the Eisenhower tunnel (Late 70's) on I-70 in Colorado

Everest is littered with frozen corpses of people who didn't make it.

The corpses even become waypoints, like "green boots" a pass named after someone who's green booted legs mark a particular point.

Quite creepy

"Perhaps most well-known of all are the remains of Tsewang Paljor, a young Indian climber who lost his life in the infamous 1996 blizzard. For nearly 20 years, Paljor?s body ? popularly known as Green Boots, for the neon footwear he was wearing when he died ? has rested near the summit of Everest?s north side. When snow cover is light, climbers have had to step over Paljor?s extended legs on their way to and from the peak."

i guess this:

Ministry of Environment - Wells Gray - Murtle Lake

1037m elevation gain.. going up wasn't so bad, once we hit the peak we got nailed by this white out blizzard, and slipped on the way down. So a very long painful walk back down, and that was when we found animal prints, so yes. something to remember.

Similar height to the one I did, though yeah would be tough with that weather, what dangerous animals do you have there?

It's a pilgrimage up there, there's a train that goes up too, now they've got a new cafe at the top. I would have feasted if the queue wasn't so big

Didn't like it, never again. Went back to Gili Islands to relax.

The guides just run up and down that mountain all packed without any problems.

I might be hiking in Chapada Diamantina in Brazil soon.

I have no desire to climb a mountain. Don't see the point in it.

It's sort of like hiking. I run every day - bike too - but don't understand why people hike.

And don't get me started on fishing.

in our case it was bears that was the big concern.. Grizzlies and Blacks, with the former being the biggest issue. On the way down we found spoor for what seemed like bears, however we heard a bunch of howling in the vicinity and weren't sure exactly what was up.

so, GTFO was top priority. funny thing about antibear shit (had to walk up holding mace), is it really seems more for your peace of mind than to actually repel anything. It had mandatory bear caches there, which was also not so much fun when you're both depositing and collecting, as it's a ways from your campsite and basically bear bait. so one guy is armed with mace etc, other guy has all gear, and you have a long tight-ass wait as he hangs it from a tree
