Elections have been gerrymandered for years. In Europe, we get the bureaucrats running the show. Very few politicians have ever done a job outside bureaucracy or the public sector. Should one be a successful businessman he's vilified for making a success of it.

In the US the one's with the biggest wallet, not their own money, win most of the time. Then spend the next 4 years doing what their backers order and raising funds for the next election.
