Factory jobs
Do Americans want to work in factories? I am always amazed that Americans get upset that low skill jobs in factories have moved over seas. Our parents who worked in these jobs were not happy folks.

there are still plenty of factories in the US. a fraction of what there once was but still lots. there was a time when if you didn't like your factory job, you could quit that morning and have another one by the afternoon. i wouldn't say in general people were unhappy to work these jobs. there are a lot of unskilled americans who depend on these kinds of jobs but the writing has been on the wall for a long time now. you need skills otherwise your job will be replaced by a robot.

I worked in a factory in south florida for a few years but I was earning $38.50 an hour then had option for over-time, so really depends on the employer and americans have the right to work.

I'd rather continue shooting porn than work in a factory.

Americans don't want to work factory jobs.
Unemployment is 2.1% in Minnesota and the many meat factories there import workers from Somalia & 5 other countries. For many Somali refugees, the meat industry offers hope ? then takes it away | The Washington Post |

Guys at GM, Ford, Dodge were making over $20/hr with great benefits for having little to no skills other than what they were taught on the job.. They could live ok within the middle class on those wages, buy a house and have retirement. 30 years later everything costs more and wages for jobs like they had are now 10-$15.. |
