Math proves Canada is a disaster for the Environment
Thanks Trudeau
"speaking at a Houston petroleum industry gathering, Trudeau got a standing ovation from the oilmen for saying: “No country would find 173bn barrels of oil in the ground and just leave them there.” Yes, 173bn barrels is indeed the estimate for recoverable oil in the tar sands. So let’s do some math. If Canada digs up that oil and sells it to people to burn, it will produce, according to the math whizzes at Oil Change International, 30% of the carbon necessary to take us past the 1.5C target that Canada helped set in Paris. That is to say, Canada, which represents one half of 1% of the planet’s population, is claiming the right to sell the oil that will use up a third of the earth’s remaining carbon budget. https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...isaster-planet and Canadians will spend $10Billion on top of that for Trudeaus carbon scheme GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau’s carbon price: A $10-billion anchor on our economy | Toronto Sun On Monday, the PBO said Trudeau’s carbon pricing scheme will cost the Canadian economy $10 billion in 2022, reducing the annual increase in Canada’s Gross Domestic Product by 0.5% compared to what it would have been without it." |

Yup. I liked the guy, but Trudeau just isn't working out. I voted for him mostly on what he promised to do when it came to the environment, but it looks like he has no plans to follow through. He won't be getting my vote again.
It's not that. It's that Trump is in the news alot more often, and that GFY is populated with mostly Americans, and that US politics are just alot more interesting.

Mark, this makes your stance on the environment come across as disingenuous and your views on trump lacking credibility. I understand putting America under a microscope, your efforts to do that would be bolstered by your also doing so with your Country. |
