it's kinda sad what has happened in recent years, universities have always been a place where people could share opposing views, debate them, etc... now any opposing viewpoint is labeled as "hate speech", "racist", etc and any attempt to discuss such a viewpoints results in protests and rioting...

Can you show me precedent for revoking $200 million in financial aid & $400 million in research grants based on free speech? No.

Everything the president does involving money has to pass through congress. That's the checks and balances in our government.

Congress would have to pass a law citing free speech as a reason to withhold federal funds to colleges. That's a can of worms that will never be opened in America.
