The Emoluments Clause of the Constitution bars office holders from accepting direct and indirect gifts or payments from foreign governments. Flynn retired from the Army in 2014, but the Department of Defense has said the clause also applies to retired military officers because they may re-enter service.

Reps. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the chair and ranking member of the committee, wrote in a letter on Thursday.

So far as I am concerned, Trump just confirmed all of this. During his press conference today he said these leaks are illegal. The only way the leaks are illegal are if they are true, and if the information we are being fed is in fact true.... Then the Trump administration has been direct and regular contact with the Russians since before they won the election... which brings up an entire new line of questions - we knew the Russians interfered and influenced our election, but now we need to know if Trump took part in this.

It seems that they did - the claimed at one point that they direct access to information at WikiLeaks before it came out. There was hacking involved, which is illegal, and if the Trump people were involved in any of this they might have broken laws.

This is ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. We invested Benghazi nine times even though we knew there was no wrong doing. We also invested Hillary's email even though we knew there was no wrong doing. In both cases we knew there was no legal case. Here we have a lot of evidence of Russian involvement in our election yet no investigation. And please do not tell me we do not have evidence of this - the United States government has slapped sanctions on Russia for this, and now a top member of the Trump administration has stepped out. We now for a fact Russia interfered with our election, and we know for a fact that the Trump people were in touch with both the Russians and Wikileaks during the election.

We must investigate this to the fullest extent of the law. This is not about politics, nor is it about removing Trump from office. It's about Russia directly interfering with our election.

Flynn called Russia 5 times in a single day and discussed sanctions ( after first lying to the FBI & VP Pence saying he didn't ) Flynn didn't act alone, Flynn was referring to multiple other people including Trump ( stating the obvious )

It will all come out in time but with the GOP corruption we have it will be after they've used Trump to get everything they needed passed then they'll throw Trump under the bus, unless something even bigger and undeniable is leaked from intelligence, or Russia.

There is no doubt in my mind that he was acting under direct orders from Trump. Trump, because of his complete and utter lack of political experience, had no idea it is illegal for a private citizen to negotiate on behalf of the United States without authorization. Trump was the President Elect at the time; He had zero power, and no official position.
