America did not sell any chemical nor biological weapons to any country. Some US companies sold some dual-use material that can be used to produce chemical or biological weapons to iraq, but they were all stopped once the US goverment was awared of that.

The United States did not give Saddam any chemical or biological weapons. Rather, he was given chemicals and pesticides under an agricultural aid program that he later used to derive weapons with. It isn't necessarily a large step to put two and two together, but let's not forget that the U.S. was able to do this without any criticism from the international community, who now can't accept the current action. Further, it's debatable as to whether or not the U.S. supplied the technology to extract biological or chemical weapon use from these supplies. Many other countries were complicit in this regard, including our friends the French, who actually built a nuclear reactor in Iraq (under the venerable Jacques Chirac), but, nice try, I guess....

Thank you for your link. Very compelling, however you're receiving your information unquestioningly from a biased news source without bothering to find out where the authority for their claims originates. Whether or not it's fox, or the Sunday Herald, you are not getting to the root facts, but relying on the filtering of the UK equivalent of the Fox news network. Biased and sensational to a target audience. For the sake of argument, let's concede that what you've cited is correct. The consequence of the use of chemical and biological weapons relative to the use of conventional weapons places the states that equipped Iraq with conventional weapons at the helm of responsibility for Saddam's power and destruction. If you need reminding, many, many more Iraqis, Iranians and Kurds have suffered at the end of a barrel than through chemical and biological attacks.

I EXPECT bad shit to be done in my name, It's weird, people call politicians lying greedy bastards, but when it comes to things they do as a country it's somehow different. It doesn't make any country that sells restricted arms a bad country - it just makes the politicians doing it assholes, but nationalism seems to make people feel personally slighted by someone saying an obvious truth.
