Epoch discontinues affiliate program?

Quote:
Dear,

We are contacting you as an active affiliate in EpochStats for one or more Epoch processed Sponsor Programs. It is important that you read the following regarding payouts made by Epoch.

Effective September 16, 2016, Epoch will discontinue paying affiliates by check and/or wire. The last scheduled payout is for the period of August 27 to September 2, 2016.

Be aware that all sales will continue to be tracked normally and commissions will continue to be credited to your affiliate IDs. However, all proceeds after September 3rd will be paid directly to your sponsor. We suggest that you contact your sponsor's affiliate manager to update your method of payment.

If you use EpochStats to track your sales, it will continue to be available for at least one year when the program will be reassessed and possibly discontinued. We want to provide this ample time for you to make other tracking arrangements.
I'm kind of shocked!

But not really. I guess ccbill won the "war" over small-ish affiliate programs.

So sponsors will start paying you instead of Epoch and after a year no Epoch sponsor stats at all?

I've just got email and couldn't believe what I am reading. Well fuck it anyway, in my niche, there were almost no sites who were using them. Hopefully they will move to Verotel because they are reliable and are missing good sites for promotion.

I liked the merged payments, but the they are really lacking in the stats department, and they don't even have a proper payment history.

I'll be happy if those programs move to CCBILL or set up NATS.

I had a dozen programs on the list they sent me. Maybe two of them are still active and putting up new content; the others are all on autopilot if not actually dead. No way those programs are going to get reorganized on CCBill or set up their own payment systems. They will just pocket the checks for residual sales and get on with life. I'm gonna have to pull a ton of ancient links. Luckily it's not a lot of revenue.

wow this is big news and it doesn't really make sense so I'll keep my eye on this thread. I don't promote any epoch sites but a lot of the programs i promote use epoch in cascade with ccbill.

So would I still get paid via ccbill if the sale was made via epoch as a affiliate?

I'm pencilled as to why Epoch didn't make a proactive thread here answering the basic questions they know would be asked.

As far as I understand it this is correct, basically the same way it has always been.

People, they are talking about specifically the EpochSTATS system (very similar to a ccbill program, where epoch pays your affiliates for you). It wasn't very popular or widely used, and will not affect NATS programs using Epoch or ccbill programs with epoch in their cascade.

I don't think this will affect many people, I can't think of any active program that is on EpochStats. That's probably also the reason why they are discontinuing it.

god you are old and stupid.. did you forget how to read or is everything about the decline of porn for you?? If you read the posts in this thread you would see epoch is not going anywhere anytime soon. They are just shutting down something that is never used.

I can make a very interesting offer here for many of you, with no annual fee + a low intro rate for getting started. Send me an email and lets discuss it.

We recently just launched one-click sales for VOD and cam sites to help increase conversions. This feature is available via our FlexPay API and can be configured for your loyal members or for your entire member base.

We are also integrated with NATS and have our own affiliate tracking + payouts. With some new features coming soon!

This is why I have stuck with CCBill for over 10 years for my processing. Always been very happy with them and so are my affiliates. I just don't trust many other processors.

Your pageload for ccbill stats is stuck now for 10 years?
They still didn't fix that?

Seriously they didn't email you? You're one of the dozen sponsors in my EpochStats account (no real recent sales, but a sweet lifetime ratio of 1:309) and they emailed me on July 5. Now I wonder if they bothered to tell any of the other programs I promote or have promoted through Epoch?

I was wondering if program owners were being provided with a database of their affiliates and contact/payment information so they could at least in theory make the payments and/or set up a replacement affiliate program. Sounds like that must be a big "nope".

Well... I contacted Epoch and they said they d send me an email... I checked, double checked; even my spamfolder but there was no email... It was send to me (again) so i'm informed now

1:309

Contact info is available but i think payment details must be asked directly by program owner to affilliate... My quess is that Epoch won't transfer these personal informations to us... that could be a legal thingy...

Epoch's decision will kill many small (but still profitable!) affiliate programs. Many rebills and payouts (webmaster's money!) will be lost. Tons of links have to be updated (more summer work for all!).

Thank god we don't use Epoch at least for processing!

CCBill and Verotel, please DON'T ACT LIKE EPOCH or you'll loose your turnover for sure!

As affiliate, I was always ignoring sites processed by epoch. Now it seems like a good decision. CCbill or Verotel if program want affiliates to promote it.

Because most affiliates made this "good decision", Epoch has no reason to continue a non-used service... Don't mix up the chicken and egg story... it's an Affiliate Fulfilling Prophecy

I get it from an affiliate perspective to not promote Epoch-sites (not so many sites to promote, few hits to send, minimum payment). But then I also don't see a reason for affiliates to promote Verotel sites...

My understanding is that the links stay the same, it is just Epoch don't pay the affiliates, they will pay sponsors, then the sponsor will pay the affiliates, so no need for anyone to go out of business

LOL -- it looks like the reality is Epoch just forwards the money and washes their hands of it. Some of these sponsors have never run their own affiliate programs, they have no systems in place to pay affiliates, and they don't even get the payment information that Epoch has. How many of these sponsors are going to make the extraordinary effort to start making affiilate payments, versus how many are just going to pocket the checks?

I don't know where this misplaced confidence that "then the sponsor will pay the affiliates" comes from.

I have sent you an Email after you called me yesterday. I am not sure if you received it. Just wanted to let you know that it has been confirmed again : the setup that I told you about would work perfectly

If it was earned years ago, it was supposed to be paid out by Epoch. You should contact them, make sure to mention that it's past earnings from EpochStats.

I think they still might pay you. It's just that they don't want to handle paying all the affiliates anymore.
