Lacking sufficient support, Republicans were forced to pull their bill to replace Obamacare from the floor of the GOP-controlled House. Speaking soon after accepting defeat, Trump didn't shoulder the responsibility himself, nor did he pin the blame on House GOP leadership or any of the warring Republican factions' whose competing demands ultimately sunk any chance of a consensus bill.

Instead, he blamed Democrats and vowed to let Obamacare "explode."

Republicans have this narrative going about how Obamacare is a raging disaster that's turned America into a dystopian hellscape, but that's far from true. It has it's problems for sure, but the reason they couldn't get the votes needed were those contentious town hall meetings where angry constituents told many Republican lawmakers not to "take away my healthcare". Some one them actually listened.

I have been saying since Obamacare's inception that the Republican's healthcare plan is that they have no plan and don't care to have a plan. If they could have, they would have just repealed Obamacare and gone back to how it was before. They are a party in flux because there are some Republicans that realize millions of their voters are now getting cheap or free health insurance through Obamacare and they will not be happy if they lose it and there are others that don't care and would still rather just repeal and move on with no replacement.

A true Republican health care plan/attitude is "fend for yourselves motherfucker". That's truly as far as it goes for them. Any attempt at health care reform by them was ONLY so they could repeal the evil Obamacare.
