If this little sucker can live 10 years without water and can survive space, I'm wondering if it came over to Earth millions of years ago to seed earth with animal life. 17% of it's dna is 'other animals' which might indicate that. Interesting tiny little creature.
I also think it holds the secrets for long term space travel for man, if we can discover its genetic secrets and learn how to shut our bodies down. The tardigrade genome has been sequenced, and it's even weirder than we thought - ScienceAlert  |
