Are people who live in Tiny Houses all Wackos..??

I watch all these shows about people who think sleeping in a 3 foot high space is neat fun..

LOL...!!

KOOKS.. CRACKPOTS.. NUTHEADS..??

If you got arrested for something and they put you in jail cell with a 3 foot high space you would win millions in a lawsuit for cruel and unusual punishment..!!

Yet these people joyfully jump right into them.. crawling around on their knees for the rest of their lives..

HAVE PEOPE GONE CRAZY...???

I guess so..!!

Amazing . . . The most overpriced shit known is the housing. Any tech / program to minimise cost of that should be funded by government in the first place.

I can understand it. The biggest expense you have is your housing, and the reality of it is we use to very little of it. We have a living room and a family room we never use, as well as a playroom and a guest bedroom. My master suite is huge, and it's all wasted space - All you need a bedroom for is to sleep in; Frankly a large closet is big enough.

The funny thing is, I'm sleeping in my closet while i remodel my house ( started on all rooms at the same time."STUPID") So when I'm finished i will literally be coming out of the closet

People live in them yes. I can 100% understand why they do. Not everyone wants a big house and in this day and age $30k sounds like a bargain to many people. Would I pay $30k for one? Fuck no, I'm capable I'd build my own but it wouldn't be on wheels, it would be in the mountains as a off-grid cabin.. Something that would at least hold value due to the property..

Is it a horrible investment? Well IMO yes but that comes with conditions..

If you are paying $1k a month to rent an apartment, which is cheap in many places, in 2 years which is the average stay at one place for apartment renters, that's $24k out the door with zero to show for it.

Lets say you build one of these tiny houses and it costs you $30k.. It's paid for it's self in 2.5 years. If you then decide to sell it, even if you only get $5k out of it you just profited $5k by living in it..
If you are paying more for rent then it pays for it's self faster..

So is a tiny house on a trailer really a bad investment if you know you would be renting a place? I don't think so if you have legitimate way to make that money back in way of savings.

Now ad to this, I see it as no different than any RV.. People are paying $50-100k for RV's that literally fall apart in 10 year time from "weekend trips". Try living in a RV full time and it's going to go down hill very fast.. Added to this RV's have notorious loss of value..

"Own" a house for $30k? That's stupid.

Paying $2k every month for rent for the next 40 years? That's smart. You'll save so much money in the long run.

The only stipulation is you're going to need to earn at least $2k per month for the rest of your life. Which means you must be some kind of slave to the system for the rest of your life. And even if you have no skills, you could still work 3 different jobs at 3 different McDonalds and still maybe almost have that $2k per month fairly-well covered.

Granted, working 24 hours per day you, will never see or set foot into the home you're paying rent for. But at least its a nice storage area for your stuff.

I can see how specific people could like having one of these houses especially if they are single. A couple, I would think, would start to drive each other crazy in one of them.

A friend of mine recently went through a divorce and his kids are both now adults. He was talking about getting one of these because his job lets him work from home most of the time and his parents live in a different state so he could just tow the house to their property and spend a few months visiting them then bring it home. He could travel easily with it and still be able to work wherever he goes so long as he has an internet connection.

I can see the appeal of having a very simple minimalist life, but I think it wouldn't take too long before the novelty of it wore off and you got sick of it.

See I can totally get this. It's cheaper, easier to maintain, and easier to keep clean.

In a few years I want to get a motorhome. Once my kid leaves home there is no reason not to. I can work from anywhere. Most likely I would buy a motorhome, sell the house, go on the road for a few years or so, and then buy a smaller house when I am ready.

Do a van.. Like a Mercedes Sprinter or something. Big ass RV's are boat anchors, they aren't meant for actual traveling, they are more for driving to a campground and sitting there..

Build a self contained van and you can drive it daily with no need to be anchored to a power cord or water hose..

I don't think they are stupid, they are making a lifestyle choice that suits their current needs. I have a large house and it's only my wife and I who live in it, I love it and there is no way I'd change it for anything. We have 3 guest bedrooms and a basement that isn't even finished yet that would add another guest room. For two people it's overkill but it has appreciated a lot in just 3 years so I'm happy.

If Apple made one and called it an Ihome 2MuchMark will freak out telling everyone how everyone should live in one.

Hmmm It's a shame Apple doesn't make an Idick because Mark would be sliding icons all night.
