Would you create an affiliate program?

Would you create an affiliate program? Seems like it is more trouble than it is worth.

Easier just to put traffic from the main tube sites and be done with it.

Personally, no. No means to. But if I have a few million and willing to invest in 10 businesses and let the 20% make up for the 80%... I just might.

An affiliate program establishes a CPA fixed selling cost per unit.
An affiliate program can aid a product or platform's branding and name recognition by getting the word out there -- pop up/under ads on tubes (that are mostly blocked) do not do that.

Really, affiliates advertise your product to the public and only cost you a fixed price when they make a lead or sale.

i think the trend now is "select" affiliate program.

its a waste of time to cut 60 cent checks or communicate with 1000 affiliates doing no sales. be selective of your affiliates and its time/money well spent.

Yes I would but I would only build a DERIVATIVE system. ie., it's built on top of an existing system. Less headaches.

Isn't it amazing? I have well over 1000 affiliates and I get signups every single day to my four Affiliate Programs (see sig heh). And you know how many actually do anything? Less than 1%. People signup then do.....absolutely nothing. It's amazing.

It is the same thing in every other niche (cams, dating), you name it. At least in my own experience.

Yeah it's weird. Since my last post above two new affiliates signed up. Will they send traffic? No. Will they make sales? No. Will they even go to the AP and download promo tools? Maybe but probably not. Will an email from me goose them into action? No. LOL

Crazy stuff.

Let me preface this with: I am not just saying this because of my position, but an affiliate program of some sort is only 1 small piece of the full marketing plan you should have for any business.

IMHO, an affiliate program as mentioned above immediately gives you a sales force and branding in the digital world without having any real upfront costs.

Let's say you buy traffic, that money is spent and you have no clue what type of return you will have. Affiliate marketing allows you to quickly branch out your marketing material for branding and also allows you to keep costs down until you are already paid for the conversion, allowing you to put finances in other areas of marketing in addition to affiliate marketing.

There are various facets of marketing, it depends on your plan really. If you need help with analyzing affiliate software I invite you to learn more about our platform options (noted in my sig) and as always I'm available for discussions.

Just prune the never actives from your active database -- Automate signup and recontact emails.

People have plans and goals that never materialize -- fact of life

ya so i guess the OP has to figure out if they can afford to support a large affiliate pool, where less than 1% will return sales. in last 10 years, the answer from most small site owners was no.

glad to hear you are still doing great!!

I still get plenty of affiliate signups ...and many of them are doing very well with sales. Some of them, being the same affiliates, year after year that continue to promote the content. Other affiliates, being brand new affiliates that have just signed up.

Was it better 10 years ago? I would most definitely say YES, but I still have plenty of affiliate sales coming in every day so there is no way I'd shut down this program.

So to answer your question, Yes ....I am most definitely glad that I started an affiliate program.

Like with most things the setup is the biggest thing. But once the design, scripting and promo tools are made the work thereafter is doable. Having thousands of useless affiliates isn't really a burden unless they tap your resources.
