With decreasing revenue expectations yearly I don't believe the effort is worth it.

Adapt all you wish (which is a good strategy) but at one point the treadmill you're running on will be going too fast - meaning the return you get for the effort put in won't be worth it, compared to other ways of making money.

1- Real traffic ... yes.
2- Converting site with updates and fresh content.... none that I can see.

Show me what converts at 1:300 these days. Many of the really big players are gone or dying and a ton of the smaller ones are long gone.

I'd love to see what converts at 1:300 that is NOT ultra filtered.

well said , there is till money but it's hard and you need to fight everyday unless you come with super creative solution . you cant make money with skilled hard work from free content like few years ago .

even cams are not good as 2012-2014 , i see some advertisers spend 50,000 dollars a month to invest in generic traffic that could give RIO after half decade or not ,nothing instant and without spending it's impossible these advertisers also after low signals it's just tell you how adult verticals doing now. i tested those sources then i got my campaigns blocked . very rich...

I just have a hard time believing that. The first link goes to a site that has the title, "Home Town Amateurs" yet the actors look nothing like amateurs. It's good content but nothing that hasn't been done many times over the last decade.

I'd be happy with 1:2000 and I have amateur traffic. Real people no bots, trades etc... My best ratios with highly targeted traffic to amateur programs which fit perfectly with my domains (you can't get a better match) are 1:7000 ...

Unless your traffic is so filtered - meaning it's really 1:8000 but by filtering and filtering some more you dwindle it down to 1:400 then I get it. But even organic traffic sent to those tours won't give you 1:400.

I wish it were the case still.

When it comes to straight-up membership sites I have seen 'some' money. But it has to be exclusive and very niche. And you have to find just the right audience. You can't just throw up a general porn site and skim tube traffic and convert.

But the problem is that the ROI is so bad that it pretty much makes any wise Webmaster stop before they even get started. If you know that you will most likely spend more than you will make (and this includes time) and you are technically in a market that is quickly going extinct, then whats the point?

As an experiment I started a few member sites hoping that there may still be some money in it. Also the fact that many membership sites have closed lessens the competition. And I did make some money and I'm sure if I worked everyday constantly I could get enough rebills to make some decent passive income, but it's a big IF and does not really seem worth the time anymore. Because like many have already said, you can find virtually anything for free so what's the point.

And for those sites that are still doing well, I wonder how many of their members even know they are members. I used to make money from people that were members for years that never even logged in. They just joined one night, had fun and forgot they ever joined and never got around to cancelling. I even sent out announcements but they probably were never read or went to spam.

Even selling traffic will eventually die out because if it does not convert (because no one buys anything), then people will see no return and stop buying.

It's kinda funny but when tubes came out I thought that it was the anti-porn people that started them. Because what better way to kill an industry then give it all away for free.

Money is still there, but it has to be interactive or tangible.
