"Promoted" / "Sponsored" EBay listings
I've noticed that they make no sense. The promotion, according to their unverified numbers, had driven nine platform sales for me over the course of a couple of weeks.. possibly three .... I would always "set trending rate and some days I would go above it by a good percentage- I also tried going all the way to the maximum of 20% to see what would happen... never got any traffic at any excessively high bid except for 12 to 13 percent range. High bidding seemed to stall impressions, oddly enough.
By now they aren't even able to deliver impression data. It had issue after issue until they finally just gave up and disappeared it ... Any way.. a couple of days ago I wasn't getting any traffic at all and so I thought, what the fuck let's be contrarian here. So I bid 1.2% I started seeing more clicks I bid 1.6% and forgot all about it Meanwhile BAM two sales pop which were accredited to the promotion program. At 1.6%. After nine sales in two to three weeks with aggressive bidding. So the question is how does this work? Did the promotion really drive those two sales? And why at 1.6 rather than at 7.1 or 3.8 or 15 or 20 or etc? I've noticed that things really got messed up when they began allowing single quantity listings. What I use to do is I would set all of my quantities to two and then add them to a promotion campaign and then set them back to one. With less people using the program it was a LOT better The worst thing about it, I'd say, is that you pay your maximum bid. So let's say that I bid 18% and the highest duffoon after me is at 11% ... if a sale pops I pay 18, no increments no astroglide .. they need to fix that... eBay INVENTED WEBSITE BIDDING and look at this now It's almost comical I was also very curious to know if anything gets a campaign going when it stalks. I've tried pause resume I've tried delete and create new I've tried a couple of other tricks One that helps is going to ADD LISTINGS and unchecking hide promoted Then switch from newly listed to lowest price to what ever other one It seems to force the system to re crawl the listings for price information It definitely shows ads for more competitively priced products and it seems to really like listings with a lot of ITEM SPECIFICS |

If ebay would scale their fees across the board I'd be more interested in trying to make sales there. As it is now I get sick to my stomach with every monthly payment sent. There's no way in hell I'm doing anything more to increase those fees.

I couldn't get it to show any results sadly so I am not using it. Seems many people had the same experience. I prefer getting top spots organically.
