There is nothing illegal about opposition research. At all. However, if it is coming directly from a foreign government then yes, that is illegal. It's not illegal because it's opposition research but instead it's illegal because they were receiving help from a foreign government to win or perhaps rig an election.

There is no fake news. At all. All of this is real. There is a massive investigation under way. People are being charged - Not "going to be charged" but instead three people have been charged and will be going to trial. More charges are coming. Next they will be putting Jr and Jared under oath.

After that, guess what - Trump himself goes under oath. You don't think so? They dragged President Clinton into an investigation and put him under oath. Wait until we ask him if he ever had sex outside of his marriage - and don't say "you can't do that" because they've done it before to a sitting president, so there is no reason not to do it again.

It has not been proven as FAKE NEWS.
Originally, it was founded on research paid for by some of the Republican's in their race run-off.
It was never used against him for whatever reason.

Then the Clinton camp found it when doing opposition research and did not do anything with it.

But after the election, someone in either the Republicans or the Clinton camp told the media that it existed and they ran with it for just what it was. With the note that they could not prove what was in the dossier because the sources were in Russia and they had no contact as the former British intelligence officer had with Russian officials to confirm or deny what he wrote. He did not give sources and hid when this went public.

And that is probably why nobody in either two groups made the info public till he won the election. But You would have just as much trouble finding out who leaked the idea that this dossier was out there. One of the segregates for a Republican candidate or one in the Clinton camp. Nobody expected he would win till he did. Seemed irrelevant.

So that is the truth as it has been presented. No matter what some in the media might say. But I think most media would agree with this assessment. Even though nobody has made this complete story of it.
