SEO question

OK, i've got a nice question for you guys.

A mainstream site, perfectly on-page optimized for its keyword, that used to rank on page one for variations of it.

Consistent, gradual links being built slowly for the last 7 years.

Its PA and DA are higher than the competition.

Its Spamscore is 1/17, as opposed to the competition spamscores of at least 3/17.

A healthy, naturally grown website, with 100% unique texts for pages and posts for the past 7 years. Visitors tend to stick around for a while.

Why is it ranking on page 10 for a year now, instead of page 1 like all those years before?

So you think its the links.

But when the links are the problem, why is everything in the moz rank better than my competitors? Moz rank is primarily based on links.

Is your competitor HTTPS and you are not?

good question - there are several competitors, the majority of them do not have https.

i'm going to analyze the links and compare it to the others.

Non HTTPS sites were demoted a few months ago. I experienced this and upgraded to HTTPS and I am back where I was previously. https://www.brightedge.com/blog/http-https-and-seo/

i knew google imposed it upon us like the friendly monopoly they are, but i didn't know it had such an impact on actual SERPs. Looks like i have to bow down to them after all

MOZ metrics are mostly useless.
Without knowing your site URL, it's impossible to know the reason of the drop.
There are many ranking factors involved.
If you don't mind, please PM me your site URL and your competitors as well, I will perform an analysis and let you know the answers for your case.
