Doesn't this actually prove that police isn't discriminating, and not only blacks getting such treatment when they resist / don't cooperate?

Congrats to your president Trump, he made the police do its job, regardless of race of the perpetrator.

I somewhat agree. But pulling hair? where in the police academy movie was that taught?

and repeatedly punching her was not only fruitless, he throws weak punches making him look silly and again, that's not in the training.

From what I read, she has a felony? record and is underage and drinking on the beach = she's a criminal, nevertheless, that cop did not handle a drunk teenage girl like a smart well-trained adult should have. he acted like a pussy, he even taunted her with "you're going down" and something else. None of that is in training. he went full pussy.

It should have never escalated to that point to begin with. Don't cops have anything better to do than harrass some chick on the beach and then tackle and punch her? She should sue the city.

Cops don't have the right to get pissed and arrest you because you're disrespecting them.

Me and my friends were hassled by the cops all time when I was a teenager. Whether we were hanging out in front of the corner store drinking beer or at the park smoking weed. Best thing to do is to just comply to any reasonable requests.

Sir, yes sir. Sir, no sir.

Showing some respect to the 5-0 has kept me out of jail many times. I've only been arrested twice for weed. Once when I was 12 and once when I was 16. All the other times they just made us dispose of any alcohol and weed and let us go. One time we even smoked a joint with a cop.

If you're with a group of people you will most likely be targeted. We got ID checked all the time while walking the streets. We got pulled over all the time for no reason when there was a group of us in a vehicle. They would even say they smelled weed in the car when none of us had weed just so they could search it.

Not fucking caring.

When a police officer asks for your name or ID you MUST comply. Period. It is not open to discussion or debate. Period. I don't even care what started this. The woman refused to give their last name, and started to walk away. At that point no matter what she is going to be arrested.

In the first video.... Seems to me like she hit the officers first and then continued to resist.

Sorry, I have zero compassion in such cases. This is very basic. Fail to give a police officer your name and or your ID for any reason, then you be detained and answer questions at the police station. It's just that simple. If you resist in any shape or form, you get beat. That's it.

She was drinking on a public beach, and looked under the age of twenty-one. Police started to ask questions, and she refused to give her name or show her ID. If police accuse of you under age drinking and you refuse to give up your ID... You get arrested, handcuffed, and brought to the police station until they can verify your age. If you are over twenty-one, no issue. If you are under twenty-one, you get charged. If you resist arrest in the process - no matter if you guilty of any other crime or not - you get arrested and charged for that. Assault a police officer and you get charged with that too.

So it seems like this chick can be charged with underage drinking, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police office. That can mean jail time.

What the fuck is wrong with people? You do not argue with a police officer EVER. If you disagree with how something was handled, you file a complaint afterwards. If you are charged with something you handle it in court. You never argue about a ticket on the side of the road - that's what the court system is for.

You'd be surprised how passive cops legally have to be in other countries.

If cops in other western countries acted like they do in America they'd be arrested, tried and sentenced to long jail terms.

So few people are arrested & jailed in other countries, we're number one in incarceration.

This was because you weren't suspected of a crime. If they wanted to press the issue and you continued to refuse, you would have been taken away in handcuffs.

How does it work in other countries?

Let's say you are outside and breaking a law about drinking, and the cops want to give you a ticket or something. You can just say "No" and walk away?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way.

That's the key. They have to have reasonable suspicion you've committed or are about to commit a crime and be able to articulate what the crime is. They can't just say they are suspicious or want to know what you are doing. If they can't articulate what crime they expect you of doing and you aren't performing a regulated activity such as driving you can tell them to ballsuck you.

You were not there and have no idea what you are talking about. In fact, the cops did not know who the suspects were at the time they asked me my name and I told them that I won't be telling them my name.

Love it

I always talk to cops I'm an open book.

When I kicked out my son's psycho girlfriend a few months ago I called the cops. First time in 10 years living here I've called the cops. Never had the cops called on me of course.

I was alone. They came over and one talked to me while the other one walked around the house checking thinks out. The guy checking things out kept asking me where I got different cool shit. Whatever. They ended up giving me great legal advice, wrote up a report for me, and I change the locks and put her shit outside never saw that bitch again It might have helped that she did a hit and run into a mercedes while driving my son's convertible Mustang. 😡

I like how all the cops know to walk away too. He's absolutely right.

He's a bit jerky about it, nevertheless, we do not have to answer questions and necessarily comply with a cop.

that guy applies to the op topic too.

the girl on the beach simply did not giver her name to the cop, he escalated the sitch then, not deescalate it like I think he should have and he certainly could have. Called in for female backups who then take over and handcuff the girl for drinking on the beach. There were better ways to deal with catching that teenager drinking on the beach.

She was underage drinking in a public place. She is automatically in the wrong.

You're absolutely right, I agree with you. She was in the wrong and the cop handled that wrong. Let's face it, the cop let a drunk teen girl 1/2 his size get him so aggravated that he taunted her, pulled her hair, and closed fist hit her repeatedly.

Until you get that cop who skipped that day of training. Then it might get interesting.

Not that I'm saying cops always pay attention to things they were trained to do/not do.

That's my problem too. Maybe she was an asshole, but the cop shouldn't escalate directly to physical force -- especially when it's a human half his size. Dude needs a different line of work because he's a child doing a man's job. Cops need to be imposing and formidable physically, but also know when to apply that power. Qualities not possessed bya jerk-off like the cop in this video.
