I've posted an article about a week ago or so, it is not published and there is no any kind of info. Is this normal, how long it takes to publish an article in GFY educational section?

Did they ask you to write it? I was the first, but they asked me to write it; not sure the procedure in 2018.

Nope. I wasn't aware of invitation. I've thought that submitting a high-quality article on the relevant subject is enough. I've gone over the 10K character limit
