The USTR’s final list includes 1,102 product lines, down from about 1,300 initially, mainly focused on China’s Made In 2025 plan to become dominant in high-technology industries such as robotics, aerospace, industrial machinery and automobiles. Consumer goods including mobile phones and televisions aren’t being hit with the tariffs.

it is not what you bus for selling in your country - is is what you NEED to import for compete in the export market.

the point is not that US is importing too much - the point is that US is exporting not enough.
that means US companies are not competitive and all the future technologies where US would be able to compete are killed by the blond honk.

the US export industry will now buy from outside for a higher price and that will make the export market even harder because other will use this advantage for their industries and buy the cheap goods to produce valuable goods from it and export them at an affordable and competitive price.
