Ted Cruz for Supreme Court Justice?

There's been long-brewing talk that, despite the election beef between him and Trump, Ted Cruz should be nominated for a US Supreme Court slot.

How likely is this?

What will the Dems do now that the Gorsuch confirmation hearings brought about the Senate rule that confirmations require a simple majority vote (the "nuclear option")?

Would it be the end of the world or business as usual (after the drama dies down)?

He isn't on the list - I can't remember what the URL list but there's a list of candidates and supposedly this SCJ will come from that list

Trump hates him. There is no way he would reward him with this.

It's not the end of the world. Far left liberals are going nuts on TV to gin up the base. Totally irresponsible. I hope they don't take over the party with their hysteria, if they do I'll change parties to Independent.

The fact that Schumer and other Dems are on TV saying to hold McConnell to his word of no justices during an election year is pure stupidity, everyone knows McConnell is a hypocrite and power-hungry and it's a bad move on their part to go on TV and say that stupid shit lol

Ted Cruz shouldn't be in charge of a hot dog stand.

He and Trump get along just fine. Always have.
Just like pro wrestling they "worked" the crowd during the primary.

But Trump needs his Senators right now. So Cruz is far more valuable as a US Senator

They always have a list, and when they actually need to pick someone they update it.

Calling Ted Cruz valuable is only the half-most braindead thing you've said.

Look all kidding a side i always voted democrat. If you ever told me i would vote for a republican i would tell you that you are crazy. The old democrat party as we know it is dead. After seeing what happened last night in New York just goes to show it. Now its picking between the lesser of 2 evils.

Yeah, best part is that CNN is making her out to be the new hot wave. Keep digging your grave, Midterms will be Trump 2.0 and dems like Bladewire will sit here, not having learnt a thing wondering how this happened again.

Wouldn't be surprised if he nominated judge Judy. He loves reality tv and ratings.
He won't nominate Judge Mathis because he's not white

You are the first person I have seen suggest this as a possibility if that tells you anything.

Got a link to this "long-brewing talk?

The only reason I doubt its a Sen Lee or Cruz, is because that would mean one less vote in the Senate for confirmation. And they only have 51-49, and its really 50-49 right now as Sen McCain is absent and unlikely to return to vote.
