Texas Republican Congress man says Trump intends to steal land from 1000 ranchers..

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/william...s-border-wall/

This will be the end of blanket support for Trump by Republicans for anyone but the conspiracy nutters. The only thing that will save him is it all gets held up in courts because soon as the first videos of armed ranches vs the evil govt land grabbers shows up on the news.. It's all over..

"In the great state of Texas, we care about a little thing called private property, and there's going to be over 1,000 ranchers and farmers potentially impacted if the government comes in and takes their land," Hurd said on "Face the Nation" Sunday.

Democrats should just let it all play out because they are saving Trump's ass by suing.

This will play out nicely in Texas with tRump's base. Imagine thousands of landowners going to court to testify about how their land is being taken away from them because tRump made a campaign promise.

I wonder how much land they would need to put up a border wall. I'm assuming there is already some kind of dirt roads right on the border already for the border patrol to use?

So if they needed to use some land...how much would they need? A hundred feet back from the border? Not much more than they would use for a road.

They don't need to "take" ALL the land from people. Just enough for the size of an average back yard to put up a wall.

You seem to forget piggy boy.. Trump is "individual 1" in a felony co conspiracy that the other co-conspirator is now in jail. The moment Trump is no longer POTUS, "individual 1" becomes Donald Trump.

...and that's just 1 single crime he's being investigated for..

There is a good stretch of land in Texas that is private property to the border.
This would be the land they are speaking to for eminent domain.

It remains to be seen if they try to do this. The Trump admin knows it will not be favorable to take even the small strip to build a wall or barrier.
But he wants to build 200+ miles of wall with the money he takes from other services.
Something tells me it will be less than 120 miles at best.

The only places the border patrol has suggested using barriers is where there are rural activity on both sides of the border. Not in farm land or the desert.

But I think it will really be a non issue in the end. It may be wrapped up in court battles till the end of his term. Perhaps even a veto-proof legislation from congress.

Many Senators do not want their pet project defense spending to disappear as I doubt the house will replace the funds taken. And then there are the defense lobbyist.

Just a big mess when you look at it ?

The Pentagon has already stated they can deny Trump the money. Much less the countless law suits. He isn't getting his wall, he's just trying to pander to the stupid fucks like Robbie, onewebcam, Squalboy ect..ect who are too stupid to figure out reality..

I just find it nice to see that guys like Robbie most specifically, will try to justify the theft of people's land when he bitched about Obama creating a few National Parks. He whined about all the land the govt owns and claimed the govt shouldn't own all that BLM land and claimed how much of a libertarian he was ect..ect..

Now here he is trying to justify the theft of people's land by the govt all because his cut leader wants it. It's just amazing to see how much people like them will do 180's depending who is in charge..

Complete obsession with team sports with no concept they are being hypocrites..

They'll use Eminent Domain laws to get what they need. They wont need much and the land owners will get paid for what they take. Landowners would be wise to take the first offer that the government gives them.

The second offer will be less than the first.

There won't be a third offer, they will condemn the land needed and the landowner will not receive compensation. Fighting it is useless and a waste of money.

My family owned a lot of land when I was younger (in Texas!) and the state twice used eminent domain to widen roadways, and both times my parents just took the first offer and smiled about it, because when the state widened the roadway they also put in curbs, concrete driveways for everyone, and zoned the property as commercial which increased it's value. They only took 30ft of frontage each time (was on 2 seperate properties).

Don't be so quick to think that every landowner is not going to be supportive about it.

Imagine the mess it would create if Private Land owners were allowed to stop developments purely on the basis of they own the land.

No rail, road, housing, etc developments. Or do stupid libs only think it applies to the things they disagree with?

Oh yeah...it's all so simple. Isn't it? Just take a little bit of land here and there and we can get our stupid, unnecessary wall built. Fuck you idiot.

First of all, we need to keep in mind this project will never be planned or get off the ground. This administration couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights in a white house conference room and they can't even release a press briefing without grammatical errors. How the fuck are they supposed to get their shit together enough to execute one of the most massive, complex construction feats in the history of our nation? Don't be fooled into thinking this easy because it's "just a wall." Logistically it's a gargantuan project that will take years or possibly decades to finish. And this is supposed to happen from a group of bumbling grifters who can't get out of their own way and don't know their asshole from their elbow? hahaha

It. Will. Never. Happen.

Anyone who believes this fantasy will come true is a fucking moron.

still.quite sad how every single Trump nutter is finding ways to justify this. Just imagine their outrage if Obama had tried to do the same thing.

These people are mentally ill.

Remember when all the Trumpers were screaming and yelling blaming Obama because the BLM wanted to kick that federal land squatter off govt owned land? A guy who had previously set at least 3 major fires on that very land at least once setting a fire directly in the path of fire fighters..

Remember how much they hated the mean old govt for kicking a freeloader off that land? Now here they are justifying stealing people's personal property..

The cult is strong. These people are not Patriots they are not Americans. They are Red Hats, they are cult members and loyal not to their fellow Americans and country but loyal to a deranged cult leader..

Have you ever been in Texas when Federal Eminent Domain starts ?

LOL... Nobody likes it no matter what the reason.
There will be more headlines from that alone.

Last one was a bit suppressed in the news, was the XL pipeline. Tea Party and Environmentalist were protesting together. Did you ever think you would see that.

Eminent domain laws in Texas are a bit lax. A Canadian oil co was able to pull eminent domain on Texans in farms and homes on a check of the box that they were a common carrier without any proof. Just check the box on a one page form. In TX, it was intended for Public Utility. And what it means is that a market price does not have to be paid.
Think of the value loss when you carve a large farm in half. 100 acres is now 2 50 acre plots.

Just the thought of it will turn many Texans away from trump so it is not a smart move just talking about it. Not in Texas. Even if it never happens now, it will be the talk that he was willing to do it.

That's a good question. I googled this for a few minutes but I couldn't find much except this

https://www.newsweek.com/trump-admin...ll-cost-710130

I'm no engineer, but the wall needs to be wide and tall and strong so it will therefore be heavy and large. That means big trucks to bring the parts in, more big machines to dig into the ground, pour cement or whatever, install the wall, etc. There are maybe a dozen or so of those vehicles coming in and out plus support vehicles, support staff, things like porta-potties and other things.

The more room that the government grabs to build the wall, the faster they can build it. If they only grab a little, then it means bottlenecks and higher costs.

And besides building the wall itself, they also need to build roads to support all those trucks. Sure the roads are just dirt, but they need to be cleared, dug, compressed and compressed again to support the weight of all that stuff.

And since the wall will be so big, it means maybe draining & filling some lake, clear cutting some forests, damming or diverting rivers, etc. Some people would lose most of their land or have it damaged beyond repair. Some businesses would be affected or maybe wiped-out too.

It would be good to see a demand letter from the US Government to a land owner telling them how much land they need to give up. I'm guessing it would be almost the same amount for most people, but for others I'm guessing it could be more.

Good luck Texans!

So they will use Eminent Domain on a thousand property owners? That will be tied up in court for years.

Pretty much all of Texas has no border wall for this exact reason. No administration is stupid enough to go up against a thousand Texas ranchers and take their land by eminent domain it's political suicide.

They were interviewing one of these border property owners on the news the other day and she said that their plans to build the wall would have the wall 50ft from her home and the service road ending 5ft from her home.

Crockett and Bronco are utterly clueless. Ranchers have been pleading for something to be done about the criminals and cartel people who are spotted on their land daily. It's not just coyotes trying to smuggle in people, it's cartel drug smugglers armed with heavy artillery. "But but but the wall is stupid and unnecessary!" HAHAHAHAHA You idiots fall for any Democrat talking point. Riddle me this, idiots: Why did all the top democrats previously vote to build the wall? And why have they changed their minds??

Even if you're right, are Ranchers prepared to give up alot of land to build that wall? Land that may have been in their families for generations, and that they depend on? And if they say yes but the wall doesn't stop the criminals and cartel people, then what? Would you give up a big part of your land?

Wouldn't it be great if there was a way for the Ranchers to get better security and keep their land that they love at the same time?

Texas ranchers have been saying for decades the same thing we've been saying here in southern California: more border patrol agents patrolling. Just like us they know walls are bullshit people go above, under, around, and through them not to mention the price of upkeep on hundreds of Mike of wall.

ROFL!! Come on Mark, we're talking about a few feet of land on the edge of their property. No one is going to seize large ranches.

That is true.
Back when the Democrats were AGAINST illegal immigration (you know, just a couple of years back before SOMETHING happened in an election)...CNN and MSNBC did lots of reports with people who owned ranches on the border asking for the govt. to DO something.

They were fearing for their lives because of drug cartel "armies" that were heavily armed cutting their fences and moving across their pasture lands.

It seems to me that the Democrats and Republicans go whichever way they think will get them votes when it comes to illegal immigration.

Me? I'm against the wall.
I voted for Trump on the economy and damn glad I did.

But I'll give Trump credit on the Wall. He doesn't give a fuck about what the prevailing political winds are. He promised to build it. And he's gonna build it.

Meanwhile, Congress and past Presidents have promised to pass "Comprehensive Immigration Reform"...and they LIED about it.
They never do.

Somehow people are so wrapped up in their "team sports" politics that you are letting these weasels get away with lying to you to get elected.

Hell, the talking heads on "Fake News" CNN speak with DISDAIN when they sneer that Trump is having the audacity to actually KEEP his promises. lol
And of course then they point out with equal disdain when he is unable to keep them too.
(the guy can't win with them)

Why are you lying again?

Wanting to double border patrol officers at the border and increasing smart monitoring technology is not pro illegal immigration.

This is the problem with you. You can't have an honest discussion based on facts and you happily lie. You have absolutely no integrity.

Do you really think a huge concrete wall is going to increase property value?

There is no plan for a concrete wall. Fake news.

He's a fucking mental case. No deductive reasoning. No logic. No common sense. He literally just spits out whatever Brietbart & FoxNews told him a few moments before. He can't remember further than that.

He's just like Paul Markham. He has no memory of previous conversations here and paints everyone not on the Trump train as bleeding heart liberals.

This all boils down to years of litigation over 100s if not 1000s of lawsuits !

Eminent domain is the government's power to take private land for public use under certain circumstances. The power of eminent domain is defined by the "Takings Clause" of the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits the federal government from taking private property for public use "without just compensation." This clause is also applied to state and local governments through the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. The Takings Clause does not give the government permission to take any land it wants. On the contrary, it serves as a limit on the power of the government by requiring that a taking can only occur if the land is for "public use" and in exchange for just compensation.

When the government acquires private land, this is known as "taking," in contrast to a property seizure that occurs when the property owner commits certain types of crimes or abandons the property. There are different categories of takings:

A complete taking is when the entire property is purchased.
A partial taking occurs when only a portion of the property is needed.
A temporary taking occurs if the property is needed only for a specific period of time.
It's worth noting that the definition of "taking" includes more than just the acquisition of property by the government. It also includes government action that impacts the land in some way, including zoning or development plans that change the way the property can be used or result in a decrease in the value of the property.

How Eminent Domain Works

If the government is planning an expansion or public works project, and needs to acquire private property to complete the project, the government will commence the legal process of eminent domain, which is known as condemnation. The details of the process of condemnation will vary from state to state, but the basic steps are consistent.

Typically, the government will first attempt to negotiate a deal to buy the land from the private owner. If the owner agrees to the offered price, the parties can avoid court altogether. The government will issue payment in exchange for the deed for the land. If the owner and the government disagree as to the sale price for the property, the parties will attend a court hearing to address the contested issue of the fair market value of the land.

If the owner refuses entirely to sell the property, the government will file a court action and post a public notice of the hearing. At this hearing, the government must prove that it tried to negotiate a sale and that the taking is for "public use." The landowner will be given the opportunity to object and offer evidence. It's not uncommon for both parties to present expert testimony on the issue of valuation.

Chump had better come up with another way to build his picket fence!

So if they needed to use some land...how much would they need? A hundred feet back from the border? Not much more than they would use for a road.

They don't need to "take" ALL the land from people. Just enough for the size of an average back yard to put up a wall.
I wonder how much land they would need too.

I don't think it will be a few hundred feet. If they are going to take land, they are aren't going to take just a few hundred feet wide.

My mother used to work for a company that built power plants, and they had to put in power lines. They took more than a few hundred feet wide. They also had to build access roads.

Frankly.... If the government decides to build walls or even fencing, they government had the right to take the land. They say "national security" and they do it and while they might slug it out in court for a few years, I think the government would win.

I am actually all for securing our borders. Take politics out of it, take my obvious hatred for Trump out of it, and take Mexico out of it... We have a huge long border with Canada and while I like every Canadian I've ever met it's stunning that we don't have some kind of a fence or something. We've all see the news reports where in some towns you just drive over the border and are supposed to "call customs" to report it. LOL.

We need walls in high traffic areas - such as San Diego and near other ports of entry -but otherwise we need fences.

Crockett- how is it possible for someone to be SO clueless???

Cliven Bundy walks free as federal judge dismisses Bundy Ranch standoff case

"The court finds that the universal sense of justice has been violated," Navarro said. "The government conduct in this case was, indeed, outrageous."

Robbie is outraged because that's the correct reaction- if you're informed and not completely clueless.

What the study of Crockett science misses is that I was indeed thinking that the Federal Govt. has made HUGE land grabs of MILLIONS of acres of state land across the country with the Bureau Of Land Management. Completely different thing, except if you are using Crockett Science.
I don't think that's right of the govt. to do that.

I'm also NO fan of Eminent Domain land grabs that the wall might entail.

I've also stated time and again that I'm AGAINST the wall idea. (not because it won't "work", it will...I'm against it because it is too similar to the Berlin Wall and I grew up being taught that the Berlin Wall was "evil").

Crockett Science is being used by that idiot to attack me over something I actually agree with him about.
That's how Crockett Science works.

My input in this discussion has been about the HYPOCRISY of politicians and media who before Trump became President were against all Illegal Immigration. Now they pretend that Trump is a bad guy for doing and saying the exact same things they did before.

Yet you still attempt to make excuses for Trump. If this were Obama you'd have been calling him Hitler.. You try to pin it all on "politicians" not Trump. It's not politicians trying to steal Rancher's land. It's Trump..

Common Robbie let's say it together.. It's 100% Trump's plan to use eminent domain to steal people land to build his useless little wall..

It's not the coffee boys fault, it's not politician's fault, it's not govt's fault, it's not Mexican's fault.. It's Trump's fault.

I never said it would increase their value.

I said that widening a roadway and changing the zoning to commercial increased the value of parent's property even though they lost 30 feet of frontage along the road.

I shouldn't have to explain this to intelligent adults.

Oh, wait...
