Exactly. Manafort is being convicted of process crimes that were created by Mueller, plus financial crimes from 10 or 12 years ago when he was working with the Podestas.

It's no set-up... it's the law.

There were specific charges made, the judge was not going to allow the trial to become something that it was not. Just as I would want it to be if I were on trial.

edit: I'm not defending Manafort, just the process. For if this type of behavior would be allowed, it might quickly be tossed out on appeal.

With no connection to trump/russia or collusion, but financial crimes from before the trump campaign. Mueller wanted 20 years, but they gave manafort 4, minus 9 months served. This is indicative of mueller having nothing. Drip drip, ohh yea that’s my coffee.

Yea, not to worry as it's not the only sentence he is getting but the question is if they will be run in parallel or serial terms.
Then the state can get a shot at him. they could wait till these terms expire one way or the other.
There may be additional charges to come in some other court. I think Meuller had to move forward and get him locked up as a flight risk.
He is not going to spend to many days a free man.
