Paul Manafort sentenced to 4 years in federal prison!

During his sentencing he complained about his time in solitary confinement stating that he felt that he was being "punished"

Trump supporters are fucking idiots!

The sentencing for Manafortd other lost felony criminal case in Washington, D.C. is on March 13

New York has announced they have several state charges pending for Manafort should he be pardoned by the sweaty greasy morbidly obese pig in the White House. State charges cannot be pardoned by the criminal in the White House.

Judge Ellis is an old bald white male Republican appointed by Reagan.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson is a young female Democrat Judge appointed by Barack Obama.

Judge Jackson will be sentencing Manafort on March 13th for the second case he lost.

Judge Jackson can now take into account manafort's 8 felony convictions. He will not be seen as a first-time offender now.

She will throw the book at him

Manafort sentencing... Part one of 3 ;)

And the whole " solitary confinement " came from him trying to contact and influence people.. while locked up. That's why he got thrown in solitary..

True

He's already been locked up 9 months. It's been fun to watch his physical decline and know he's been in solitary.

I kinda doubt he will be pardoned.
There is nothing in it for Trump. Not much in it for Manafort because he will serve on state charges anyway.

Let's say at least until the contents of Mueller's report is known.

But for Manafort, he going to be serving for someone somewhere for some time no matter what.

I would agree with you but for the fact that Trump has been signalling about a pardon for Manafort since last year.

I think if Trump loses the 2020 election he will pardon manafort.

I don't see him pardoning manafort before the 2020 election. Do you? If you were to do it?

It was kinda my point. There is nothing in it for Trump (but downside).

It will be interesting after the next sentencing because I am sure if Manafort knows enough to sink Trump, there will be a lot of lawyer talk behind the scenes.

So, there is still a lot of 'IF's'

But if they delay those state charges long enough, it may not matter for Manafort at all.
They could really throw the book at him after the pardons.

But I would agree that we are likely not going to see anything till after the election.
OR
If Trump gets the Idea he is going down, he will be pardoning his ass off and pushing executive orders out the ass.

Nothing great to look forward to if we allow this to continue as the constitution provides.
No pretty way of looking at it.

No he didn't. He shared it with a business associate. That "associate" might have "ties" to Russian intelligence.

Notice all the weasel words? Notice how none of this is illegal or unethical? Which is why he was convicted for crimes he committed 10 or 12 years ago, when he was working for the Podestas.

Manafort is accused of sharing "political polling data with a business associate tied to Russian intelligence".

"" Trump Falsely Claims That Manafort Judge Declared There Was ‘No Collusion’ With Russia ""

What Judge Ellis actually said Thursday was that Mr. Manafort was “not before this court for anything having to do with collusion with the Russian government to influence this election.”

Exactly. Manafort is being convicted of process crimes that were created by Mueller, plus financial crimes from 10 or 12 years ago when he was working with the Podestas.

It has nothing to do with "Russian collusion" and nothing to do with President Trump.

That's because at the beginning of the trial Republican Judge Ellis, appointed by Reagan, ruled that collusion & Russians are not to be mentioned in any way during proceedings.

Judge in Manafort's Virginia trial tells prosecutors not to mention collusion | ABC News

So this trial was a setup from the get go.

The judge orders that collusion not be mentioned, then after trial says “not before this court for anything having to do with collusion with the Russian government to influence this election.”

From the article I linked to above:

"On Monday, Judge T.S. Ellis -- the 30-year veteran of the bench who will preside over the Virginia trial of President Trump’s one-time campaign chairman -- instructed the prosecution that "collusion" was off limits, as well as the mention of "Russians."

But it does not conclude what ever Manafort may be guilty of in charges that have not been presented yet.

All courts do not have jurisdiction for all crimes.

Some cases are still pending official charges in the appropriate court and some may be held back as to not give data on larger pending investigations. Mostly those that implicate others that have not been finalized.

Some may be left for other investigative bodies all together.

It's because there was no charge for the court to consider in "collusion"
It's no set-up... it's the law.

There were specific charges made, the judge was not going to allow the trial to become something that it was not. Just as I would want it to be if I were on trial.

edit: I'm not defending Manafort, just the process. For if this type of behavior would be allowed, it might quickly be tossed out on appeal.

Charges are different than language.

He banned mention of collusion & Russians during trial.

They were banned from presenting evidence that Manafort shared campaign data with his Russian partner Konstantin Kilimnik, which they were allowed to present in the Washington DC case.

It would be my 'GUESS' that it was not a matter before the court but for some other court where charges may or may not be pending, but certainly not to be decided in this court.

To be fair... to not say 'RUSSIANS' would be fair. You would have to say a individual by name. RUSSIANS could be anyone. It is prejudicial.

I see it as a judge trying his best to control his court and not have cases thrown out on appeal.
And I should add not interfere with pending investigations.

Wrong. The issue is that, as Hawkeye said, the crimes were committed while working for the Podesta Group. Tony Podesta actually committed worse crimes. We would like to know when his trial begins..?

With no connection to trump/russia or collusion, but financial crimes from before the trump campaign. Mueller wanted 20 years, but they gave manafort 4, minus 9 months served. This is indicative of mueller having nothing. Drip drip, ohh yea that’s my coffee.

I can see your point. but the extremely low sentence and the judge specifically saying collusion and Russians were not involved in his judgment just shows he was playing politics and he's a sleazy corrupt asshole DC swamp repuke judge

Yea, not to worry as it's not the only sentence he is getting but the question is if they will be run in parallel or serial terms.
Then the state can get a shot at him. they could wait till these terms expire one way or the other.
There may be additional charges to come in some other court. I think Meuller had to move forward and get him locked up as a flight risk.
He is not going to spend to many days a free man.
