Dead Due To Broken Bones

Switching channels, I came across a news blurb about a woman who died due to broken “bones”. Naturally I didn’t switch stations until I heard the story.

Woman alone at her farm. Tripped going to her house through the woods. She fell and braced herself on her arms and broke both forearms. Her cellphone fell out and she used her nose to push zero. Operator could not understand what she was saying because she was in severe pain and mumbling about trees.

Hours went by and her water bottle was in her backpack. No arms or hands to get it but she shrugged it off one shoulder. Speculation, of course.

Fifteen hours later she was found and was dead. Dehydration from jogging and lying there for fifteen hours killed her. She had jogged ten miles as usual as she was seen beforehand jogging. They think she couldn’t get up to walk home so gave up.

She was twenty-four. Usually she came around the other side where the animals were. A horse or dog could have made enough noise to get attention and help. It was in Oklahoma or Nebraska I believe. They said to never be out alone without someone knowing where you are. Sounds simple but in reality, it’s not always possible to do so.

I’m thinking that even if she got her backpack off, unzipped it with her teeth, how would she open the bottle of water? You could try to bite into it but it could roll away and empty itself.

It’s really sad. I looked online for the story but nothing yet.
