A few days ago my house was hit by lighting. I have a licenced 100 ft 2 way tower on my property that was used by the previous owner. The tower is still there but I don't use it for anything. It has 4 steel guide wires to anchor it from each direction.

Well lighting hit it, actually blew off 1 of the 4 guide wire then the lighting hopped across to the poll my satellite is on and hit the house there.. Fucking sparks flew everywhere and caught my house on fire in 2 spots.

It wasn't anything serious but it caught the soffit on fire next to where the tower was but somehow also shot around to the complete other side of the house and caught the soffit on fire at the peak of the roof on the other side of the house.

I had both fires out before the fire dept even got here so it wasn't anything major but still called them to double check everything in case needed it for insurance.

Now today I went out to eat and it's lighting outside. This dude was standing at the door way of the restaurant and opened the door (Glass door with metal frame & handle.) As he was standing there fucking lighting hit the door..

The dude took nearly a direct hit was dazed as fuck but ended up refusing to go to the hospital after the ambulance came. I swear to god the dude look baked out of his mind like he just smoked the worldest largest joint. Saw him before and he was acting normal so he was certainly in shock..

They call Central Florida the lighting capitol of the world but never had it hit anything before and now I've literally been feet away from 2 lighting strikes in a week..

It's like War of the Worlds and aliens are gonna start popping out of the ground soon...

I used to live up a mountain in northern Spain, house got hit 3-4 times, and so many near misses, watching storms was crazy up there. When it hits close, it's scary as fuck.

wifi wasnt working once and I chucked a lan cable up to the first floor to get a connection in the office, right at that moment lighting crashed down next to me, I thought I was dead. I screamed a proper girly scream.
