For all you Apple haters - you have no idea what you're missing.

My GF decided she wanted a new phone so we went to Apple to see what was new. Once there a sales rep gladly showed her the various phones and talked about their features, etc.

While she was doing that, I walked towards the back of the store where they have a giant 16 foot display setup. The guy had a wireless mic and an iPad, and was showing off a music program to a bunch of kids. The kids were all sitting on these little boxes, all playing with iPads and making their own music.

The music program was some kind of sequencer / midi / loop program. It looked like Logic Pro X, but much simpler.

The sound system was amazing. They have giant speakers hidden on the left and right of the monitor as well as in the ceiling, and some beautiful sounding sub woofers somewhere. The kids were able to play the music they created after the short class and hear it through their sound system while the display showed how they had done it. So fucking cool!

The kids loved it and had a blast dancing to their own music. Parents clapped, etc.

Later, another teacher came out with a bunch of these robot-ball, and were showing the kids simple programming to make the robots move around the store, follow people, light up and display messages, etc.

The store was crowded, and while they were selling stuff like crazy, kids were happy as fuck and learning how to be creative at the same time.

I am always impressed by Apple. Expensive sometimes? Sure. But they really go out of their way to earn customers and customer loyalty.
