Met with her this Wednesday evening for an hour. She is no longer in the tunnels but living under a bridge.

I can only say that she is in a dark place, and that drugs are a major contributor. We offered immediate assistance with housing, counseling, and treatment. She told us that she wanted the help, but asked that we also take her boyfriend from the streets.

Based on a quick assessment/observation, we declined to take him and walked away. We found a young relative of hers living in another State who was not aware of her situation, and who promised to repeatedly try talking her into accepting our assistance without the boyfriend in tow.

If she makes the decision to seek the help alone, some limited fundraising from this industry and possibly the fans would be in order. Anyone interested in leading that effort can get in touch with me directly at alex @ nalem DOT com.

I don't make it a habit to rescue people, but I met her a decade ago. Found her genuine then and now. Her eyes and smile showed us that there is a warm light on inside her. She offered us her bottled beverage in case we were thirsty. There is a good chance that she can turn her life around, but it has to happen very soon.

I hate to say this but over the years I have seen this happen to a number of people.

when offered a chance at rescue they usually take it but before long they are right back where you found them.

Now if they Seek out the rescue by themselves it seems to stick more often than not.

No matter what, what you are doing is a great thing and I do so hope to see it work. Make sure and post updates.

I realize that posting the update on "Jenni" was only done yesterday on this board, but I sought general advance type assistance from Vegas based members on the other business board.

One member shared a link to a non profit that helps homeless in the tunnels, which I will thank them today. Other than that, there has been complete silence, as no one has gotten in touch with me directly.

If anyone here is willing to spearhead a online fundraiser, I would wholeheartedly cooperate with the following conditions:

- a trust is opened to benefit Jenni
- in the event that Jenni fails to meet her obligations of completing the counseling and the recovery programs and does not remain clean, she no longer has access to the funds, and the remaining money is either donated to a charity or is to benefit another person from this industry, etc

- My name is left out of all media related communications

- Someone other than myself is to be named Administrator of the Trust.

Not sure if it's the same one, but there's a non profit there called shine a light that works to help people in the tunnels. The guy that started it worked for a paper that did a story on the tunnels. He spent a lot of time in there and wrote a book about it, Beneath the Neon.

I was in touch with Paul from Shine A Light. Distributed the above video to the volunteer teams working the tunnels. None recognized her.

Then we tried Help of Southern Nevada, whose adminstration never answered the phone and all their voice message boxes where "full". so I called and exchanged emails with Callie who is the Account Rep at their PR agency Kirvind Oak. Based on the emails exchanged, I suspect they put little effort into physically looking for her. "Jenni" wasn't found in Helps database as a person getting assistance from them. They referred to her by the porn name, and not her real name that I provided. When asked if we could meet the team leaders, they went silent. Speaking with other homeless, they claim that Help, is of no "help" to them. They rarely come into the tunnels, offer no assistance (food, supplies, medicine, etc) but instead do it for publicity as they are followed around with cameramen.

The Dutch (Netherlands) producers, also never responded to the two emails sent them, asking for her whereabouts, or the contact information for their fixer (person responsible for making the introduction).

It's the collective sum of the above, with silence from some industry people, that makes me distrust people and non profits. The only time I remember people really rallying around a great cause, was with the flooding of New Orleans.

Can I do more? Yes I can, but I cannot do it alone. So anyone reading this want to "man up" and help do something for Jenni, or for any other person that comes from this industry, should step forward.

I have a legal team, that I could persuade to help create the trust and act as administrator. I personally am willing to open up one of my homes to provide temporarily a safe and supervised environment (shelter, food, drug free), get her set up with limited public benefits (food and health) which will allow her to get at least out patient counseling and recovery.

So who here on GFY that is reading the thread, wants to help change someone's life for the better?

That is a great great idea, but pretend I'm stupid and lazy. Are you there yet? Good.

What I gather is that you want a non-profit that accepts funds and manages care for erstwhile porn starlets that are in difficult spots. As others have said on this forum, cash grants to anyone who is using drugs will result in death.

Is the goal to rehabilitate and then film them? Do a reality show with them? What keeps them on their feet after they've been helped?

Who is funding this? You'd need 20k or more - who is going to give that?

Just some thoughts. Good idea, not easy to execute.

these are checklist items you have already overcome based on subsequent posts. let the lawyers do the trust, do a gofundme and if it isn't used for an inpatient treatment center (and hopefully an out-patient boost afterward) then the money gets returned to donors.

if she drops out of the program (it happens, being clean is a process) then any funds unused if she does not return can be contributed to Pineapple or something. I highly doubt those inclined to contribute would be turned off by those terms

as to your plan(s), with all due respect you're a bit all over the place and I think losing the plot a bit which is supposed to be about Jenni right now, correct? website, media, what? we're a relatively broad industry and if talent and those behind the scenes donate you're pretty set

if you mean a larger project than Jenni for a website that protects people's privacy then cool and apologies for misunderstanding, but if this is a plan for Jenni then outing her circumstances on a public website is not what she needs, nor has she given anyone permission to create something like that. if the former it's prob not best to start a program til you figure out a strategy for the first person you want to help which is why you gotta focus on a plan that can be created to fit the person in need of assistance.

there are a bunch of things she'll need to overcome. post out-patient she's gonna need a decent job in a world that she will most likely not find supportive, having a history with huge blanks as far as what one can explain to potential employers. and no matter your circumstances it's a mind fuck to have to lie to people to be accepted. she's not a project, she's a unique person who is going to need significant long term assistance to meet her specific needs in staying well. that's where Pineapple could likely come in real handy - after she gets clean and is mentally and physically ready to take on the world

as to meeting with her for an hour and walking away as she was determined that her bf get treatment as well, 60 mins is not enough time to speak openly and honestly with each together and in private to make an assessment on her choice. he may be a scum bag pusher or he may be an equally damaged man who has protected her from violence (homeless women without a man are disproportionately subjected to sexual assault) and she doesn't want to leave him behind. he might be both. neither of us know. but having to get him help as well shouldn't be the reason not to get her help


if the point is to help people I'd suggest, he get's a fund for treatment as well but not at the same facility as Jenni. sick relationships fall apart real quick when peeps get clean in a healthy and supportive environment

if it's actually a real bond they can support each other in staying well after they get well, I've seen both and it's pretty hard to predict

either way someone on the ground needs to stay in contact with her to encourage her to commit whatever energy and willingness she can to a plan. you can't just drop in on someone's life and expect them to trust you, esp when they are already extremely vulnerable

I did street outreach for years before I left Canada so this isn't theoretical advice, and it's not meant to be insulting or condescending. you just can't start off in more than one direction out the gate with minimal current relationship with or input from the person you are trying to help

set up the trust, hire someone on the ground with an established record in the local homeless community to stay in contact with her (part of the gfm could be for that salary), push the link in our community and get this girl to the start of something better

She’ll need dental help for her rotted teeth. A CNA I had was a former drug abuser and her front teeth are nubs. Quoted five grand for the fix, she could never raise money like that. They can pull them out and do partials but that costs money.

Has anyone asked Jenni if she’s willing to do rehab and then get a normal job and live clean? Ideally she’ll say yes but realistically she might try and quit.

The industry needs a plan for the talent after they’ve peaked.
