Name some alternatives to Elevated X for a paysite...

(maybe custom CMS is the best way to go since the "Customization" EvX allows seems to be limited)

Most of our clients use WordPress, ElevatedX or custom.

I've seen people use MechBunny and I believe KVS would work as well.

I would start with a Wordpress site since it's cheap, or even free if you do it all yourself. Unless you know for sure your site will make money, don't bother investing in custom solutions.

Wordpress is good for some things and not so much for others. CMS choice should be based on your goals and plans - what features do you need?
