Can anyone recommend a 'fun' simple video editing program for windows?

I'm not talking about Adobe Premier or after effects etc... Those days for using professional programs for professional results are long behind me... I'm not looking to edit stuff up to sell. Just stuff of the family and the grandkids etc, for us to keep

On the iMac, Id have used 'iMovie' but there doesn't appear to be a similar one included with windows...

It doesn't need to be free - Just dead simple and fun, with lots of different transitions and ways to add text etc... Ideally something I could do with my granddaughter watching, where she could choose the effect that she wanted and stuff...

gonna shoot some footage over Xmas of family Dinner and her getting her presents etc, so it would be nice to be able to do something fun with it on the new PC...

Yes, I could just use imovie on my mac, but to be fair at ten years old, its really slow compared to the new PC so I may as well get some use out of the processor, ram and m.2 drives that isn't just games

All ideas gratefully received - Thanks and happy Xmas x

Google Windows Movie Maker and give that a try. I use for home stuff and it's fine.

Thanks - I've downloaded it from windows store and will take a look.

In the meantime, any other suggestions are still welcome Be good to have a few to choose the one most suitable for use with her present

I use Filmora and couldn't recommend it more. It's dead easy to use.

I also use filmora and it’s more than good for that price! Great software program, nice tutorials on Youtube and extensions are cheap. 👍🏻

Da Vinci isn't super easy, but I think more intuitive than Premiere. And it's free.

Premier... I used it on Stormy Daniels and it was(n't) fun (at all!).

Davinci Resolve and openshot are both pretty easy to use. Both are free too.

Filmora it is - Thanks. I've had a play and made a simple film of 3 trains going past that I had on my phone, with a title credit, dissolves between trains and a 'The End' title card.

It wont win me an oscar, but it was simple enough to do - Reminded me of my favourite ever video editing program 'Pinnacle Studio 7' which no doubt shows my age...

Anyway, may well pay for in the new year to remove the watermark.

Thanks

Pinnacle was really cool around that iteration. The current number can't open some pretty common current formats unfortunately.

Yeah, I LOVED that program. It was ahead of its time for the age. I remember it making a low res copy of my footage direct from the camera to save time and storage space, and then controlling the camera itself via the lead to fast forward and rewind to get the exact bits of footage it needed to create the final product.

Amazing for 2002 / 2003

I often use PhotoStory 3 for little projects.
