Job Advice for Ex-Stripper?

Hi, all.

I’m a former stripper with a college degree and over ten years of luxury sales experience, and two years experience in high-touch art sales. For the past 9 years, I've started a family; however, I'm starting to miss working in the sex industry. I thought I'd start a few sex positive blogs and a sex ecom store, which brought me to this site. My ecom store doesn't have enough traffic to be profitable, and I miss working in a sex-positive environment. I've been trying to find some ad sales jobs, and I've got a few interviews lined up with a sex-positive company. But other than that, I'm striking out. Also, I know I can do sales, but I'm not sure how appropriate it is to put "sex-worker sales" on my resume, when I'm applying for a conventional job. Anyone have any suggestions on where I can search for remote, part time work in the sex industry? Or any suggestions on a company that won't be horrified by ten years of sex work? Looking for jobs that can progress into a career.

I've tried TrafficJunkie and CrackRevenue, but they're not remote.

Thanks for the advice.

Firstly what is "sex positive" ? Are you starting a new politically correct term ? You may not get much help, if you start with " conditions"...

but hey, good luck and welcome

Hi! Thanks for responding. Sex Positive isn't a new politically correct term. It's a term that's been around awhile, and it encompasses a positive attitude on sex, and encourages experimental pleasure and understanding. It's basically means healthy, happy sex, with no sex shaming.

What conditions should I start with instead? I'm not quite clear what conditions you think I'm stating....I just gave my experience and what type of jobs I'm looking for.

What are you suggesting I do?

Thanks for the welcome!

Sign up for a camgirl account, stream yourself to make tons of money.
If you offer escort service, I'll be the first to try to see if you're qualified.
Do you have a husband or boyfriend currently?

The " conditions" you place on the potential employer are the " sex positive" enviroment. You want a job place NO conditions. BTW from your post there is NO indication as what you want to likely do, that is why most are suggesting cams...

Unless you're prepared to work in front of a camera doing porn related things and good or better at it that and promoting yourself. You're in the wrong place.

Every girl and her sister can film herself with a phone, what do you offer that's going to set you apart?

Sorry to be tough but this is a tough industry and the days of earning quick easy money were a few weeks in 1999.

Real world advice as I have dated a stripper who transitione into her own fashion design busiess (very proud o her!):

w. When seeking 'mainstream' (non-sex) work never mention being a stripper. Say you were doing something else with your lie during that time (married, traveling, etc).

2. Try clips4sale and mke your own homemade amateur videos. If you have a famly then you want to work from home. Check out that site, pick a fetish/niche or two you enjoy, and go for it!

Best of luck!

It is... because of the burning of essential oils, finger cymbals and cultural wardrobe.

shame is a big part of sex. if you think it's not you are kidding yourself. try getting a degree in sex therapy or sexual surrogate. then go online with your creds.

would blush if I were the blushing type

gracias but for real I'm in some esteemed company here. Mz MMG who we don't see enough of, Loreen, Sarah/Zuzana, Courtney, Natalie(s), Marina...sure I'm leaving out a ton

@AB gonna assume you're being real, it costs me nothing to do so

if you are legit, please know there is a massive difference between dancing before everyone had a cell phone, social media & piracy blowing up, facial recognition tech, dancer licenses being protected by gov privacy laws, and the world of adult as an online performer

in online, expect to be photo-capped, online performances recorded and posted on pirate sites, facial tech that can out you easily (never, ever use the same media across personal and adult work sites), even snapchat can accidentally leak your adult friend list to your personal one if you use the same phone

take this seriously and think about what you really want. to be a performer or to work for an adult company behind the scenes or both? the ramifications of your choices are pretty serious

sex-positive means nothing, it's a phrase encompassing principles I believe in myself but in the work world...not all that relevant most of the time. for example if you get hired as an affiliate rep, client support worker or the vice prez of a company in adult most don't give a fuck if you call all women who drive this industry useless whores

there are great adult companies but they don't really have to advertise positions, they get snapped up by peeps already within circles

kinda like if you're in insurance and want a job at Chubb. you either have to know someone on the inside or be prepared to suck dick, and that's just for the boys (Canadian joke, hope it translates)

so yeah, really confused by your post tbh. if you want to be part of a sex positive co/org it doesn't have to be 'adult', nor are all 'adult' co's sex positive when it comes to sexual women, or gay people, trans peeps, etc

hell, there's actually a "designer" here on this forum who talks shit about everyone who isn't straight, white, xian and looks like Christie Brinkley back in the 80's. there's not much positive about that really

if I were you I'd focus more on what I want to do, then find a co with a culture congruent to what you seek in a work environment

hope that makes sense and good luck

How the fuck have some of you never even heard of the concept of sex positive???

There is nothing wrong with having criteria for what you want in a job. Some opportunities will close, but you can't find a good fit with no idea of what your standards are.

I'm pretty sure OP was not asking for sex work positions but for ideas on industry gigs after sex work.

Welcome to GFY!

Ignore the doom and gloom naysayers. If you're looking to try blogging and want to be sex positive, I'd recommend that you promote women's sexual health and write reviews for sex toys. With your sales experience, you can drive targeted blog traffic to your ecommerce store. Good luck.
