Ugh.

I bought a domain a few days ago and have spent the last two days trying to redirect it.

Just realised I bought the wrong domain because of a misspelling.

so dumb.

Thats been done before by bigger and larger people who should know a lot better... So don't worry, you are not alone

In the very late 90s / early noughties, A company called me in to see their wonderful new pornsite that the were launching at the avn show. They had bought up the rights to lots of old content that mostly consisted of footage of 'known name' performers, in their first few ever scenes. It was all going to be packaged together under the umbrella of 'Before they were famous' and a DVD line was also in the offing...

They looked less than pleased when I pointed out, that instead of purchasing 'beforetheywerefamous' dot com, they actually owned 'beforetheyWHEREfamous'...

The one they wanted was already in use!!!

I suggested salvaging it by getting 'B4theywerefamous' but the big boss didn't like that, as it wasnt 'proper words' and 'Nobody doesn't use proper words or numbers on the internet' (Double Negative actually verbatim) and shelved the entire project. Just goes to show the money they had to waste when they had already got the content and built the site etc...

I wont name the 'Big Boss' because although I think it was a dick descision to shelve it - The Net was BOOMING at the time - He was actually a nice guy who had been very good to my wife and I in the past, hence why I was being shown it in the first place - Nice guy - Just too much money lol
