    Business Developer with new site idea

    Hi all,

    I am a developer with no experience in adult, but made a site based on some UI/UX ideas to improve usability and reduce clutter.

    Take a look at: ohb.wtf

    Wanted to ask some more experienced folk for feedback, and also if anyone wants to work with me on marketing/SEO for this site, or wanted something like this made for their own networks.

      While it looks cool, I think it's financially ineffective and less convenient for the user.

      Lets say you were doing this with your own videos and not pornhub embeds. Each time you press next, it loads the first HLS segment from Pornhub, at a weight of around 400-800kbytes. If someone skips through 30 videos before finding one they like then (assuming the middle of that range - 600kbytes) the bandwidth usage is 18mbytes vs 300kbytes in thumbs to make the same selection. Besides this, the user has to actually skip through and load the 30 videos instead of just eyeing the thumbs.

      So what i'm getting at is your presentation, while cool, uses around 60x more bandwidth to accomplish the same as a traditional tube does by presenting thumbnails. When scaled up to 100k users a day, this difference is HUGE.

          Yea I definitely think switching to hosted videos would be a challenge. My preliminary solution is that if you cycle a few videos it starts loading previews only and doesn't fade in the player for a second or so. Try hitting forwards a bunch. That may be enough but need data obvs.

          edit:
          To elaborate, if you load 30 by clicking next every second, it comes to under 1mb in previews. The question that needs to be tested is how fast users cycle through, and if that is not so long as to mess with the experience. I expect a best solution to do some sort of dynamic user specific setting of fade times.

              I generally support all innovation as a good idea. I think maybe while most will want to keep such functions as search, you might find an audience for such simplified experience as well. I do hope it works out for you!

                  control panel has to be hideable. look into swiping instead of buttons. touchSwipe would be a good library for your project:

                      I saw your post on reddit I agree with k0nr4d that its a bit gimmicky and not very user friendly.

                      Experiments are fun and you should do a few more maybe a way to change the "scan thumbnails for something nice" scroll scroll scroll -> next page -> scroll scroll scroll -> next page.. (automatically load new thumbs on the viewport while removing old ones, on click have the option watch the video or go deeper into the rabbit hole by showing only related thumbnails of that video)

                          Good ideas everyone. I'm definitely looking at putting in search, swipes, and minimize. Unfortunately managed search gets pretty expensive with my current host. Will definitely revisit if I change hosts.

                          Nice to see you from reddit too! That's a good idea for preview behavior. Will try some things, but as k0nr4d says don't want to make it even possible to blow up bandwidth that way. Even with embeds pornhub may rate limit me if I do that.

                                  spend $30 and get an account at https://www.a2hosting.com/web-hosting (turbo max). unlimited everything and fast shared servers.

                                              It's not going to work.

                                              The biggest mistake webmasters make when they get into the tube game--I was definitely super guilty of it--is thinking that users are going to give any kind of a shit about your site and the features it offers.

                                              They just don't.

                                              Literally the only thing that matters is showing them thumbnails of videos that they want to click on, with a lightning-fast page load time.

                                              Your site is also very unfriendly for SEO--you need to create a crawlable structure with interlinked pages to target as many keywords as possible, and each page needs to feature the absolute most clickable thumbnails you can manage to show for the keyword being targeted.

                                                  pornhub probably won't rate-limit you or care about your bandwidth usage, btw. They'll definitely find other ways to make your life difficult (and I'm gonna let you learn about all that on your own), but they're makin a profit with those embedded videos.
