5 year bump thread...guess the price of BITCOIN 5 years from now (PART 2)

Lots of haters and fanboys of Bitcoin here.

Lets see who's prediction is closest to the actual conversion (USD TO BTC) on May. 15 2025

My guess: $56,000

I will bump this thread in 5 years and personally reward the winner with something they consider valuable.

With all the fiat currency being printed (QE infinity) these are truly unprecedented times. Watch SouthPark's "Margaritaville" episode - Original air date‎: ‎March 25, 2009 - It's spot on, and history is repeating itself again in 2020. In theory should be no ceiling to scarce SOV assets like bitcoin and gold.

As a long term holder, of course I believe in future of Bitcoin. And getting the likes of JP Morgan involved with Coinbase & Gemini paints a bright future (among many other positive news and developments in crypto space). In May 2025 the block reward of mining will be 3.125 Bitcoin per block, as the next halving will happen around Feb 2024 in 4 years from now. I estimate Bitcoin to be worth around 270% of today's value between approximately $26.000 to $27.000.

Would like to see this topic evolve as 5 years ago lots of people believed the answer was $0.00 - I have been involved in Bitcoin since 2013 I believe the binary outcome success rate of 1 would have been about 1-3% in 2013, 3-5% in 2015, and currently we are looking at 10-12% success rate. And I don't mind taking a risk by investing into the future. Truth is we do need a decentralized / border-less financial system.

Anyone who deals with above average volume on International transfers will know the answer (affiliate payouts/payroll). Or frequent travelers understanding the legitimate problem of not being able to carry more then $10K passing a border without being a suspect. Looking forward to see the opinion in 2020 by the same people who thought Bitcoin was worthless and valued it $0.00 (in their 2015 predictions).

Disclosure: I have bullish sentiment and buy Bitcoin on daily basis (up or down, don't look at the price). My affiliate payouts where possible go to through Bitcoin as well. And yes, I could be wrong. But if I'm wrong, I'd be the first one to admit it. I would hold my Bitcoin to $0.00 going down with the ship and call it a day. Where most bears seem to advocate Bitcoin has no value ($0.00) since beginning of time, not willing to admit being wrong as Bitcoin continues to expand it's horizon OR research and self educate further past the most likely limited information they have on the subject.

Either way that's my humble prediction. Looking forward to see how this topic develops! PS: Not an attack any bears. Cheers

I'll put a $45,000 BTC price in 5 years.

I believe it should be higher but there will be a lot of resistance, from banking industry (ie: JPM), governments (ie: trump & sherman), nocoiners/haters, other store-of-value competitors (ie: schiff), and frauds (ie: csw)

This guys Bitcoin stock-to-flow model puts Bitcoin at MUCH higher. ($288k) He makes a good case but I don't believe we'll get that high THAT quick.

I'd love to see updated expert predictions from the previous 5yr thread, from these:

seeandsee, DWB, Roald, JFK, pinkz, javbucks, etc
(that's just the 1st page of those calling for $0 or nonexistant)

guess there's some who couldnt see an innovative great technology if it smacked em in the face by now!!

I think about this a lot lately

I think bitcoin is here to stay, I think price will be higher. many of us have need of it and enjoy/prefer using it in many situations

But I don't think it will be 10x higher. i think most who have need of it are already using it and that it's not very useful for day-to-day transactions

I think 20k-30k is a reasonable guess, mark me down for...23k

Yes, very possible, but if it reaches $1mil, the purchasing power of $1mil wont be the same as today

If/when BTC reaches $1mil, maybe a Mcdonalds happy meal cost $25 by then, inflation inflation!

The real prophet in the desert was Frank - remember how we all made fun of him when he urged us to buy at $1? We went after him so hard, and he was correct. We even busted his chops after it went to $1000 and then fell to $400 for like two years. Then it went to $19000 and he was right again. But I don't think he kept his position, or didn't make a bunch off it. Too bad.

Perhaps before calling Bitcoin “fake numbers” would recommend doing more technical analysis on the blockchain & bitcoin adoption. By your message I understand we will put you down for $0,00 in 5 years from now. Respect your opinion of course only a friendly suggestion

^^ examples of those who clearly don't understand what Bitcoin is and why it has value.

"fake millioinaires" will be those with $1,000,000 cash and can't buy shit with it. (example: Zimbabwe, Venezuela, & many more to come)

Take either average (mean, median) of the answers here, you get the prediction bitcoin will go much higher

It's a good sign that its still a great investment

I currently own very little but honestly based on this thread, intend to buy a lot more

Good point. Demand is the only real indicator of current value. However, demand is very mutable, and can change rapidly. There was low demand for NYC real estate in 1989. Prices were 10 times higher in 2019. It looks like the ambient unmet demand right now for BTC is high as you say.

You have to look at where demand comes from. It's no longer the nerd in the basement hodling BTC, it's some of the major players on Wall Street. When something gets the attention of the greed merchants it bares watching.

The Difference between Bear and Bare
Besides being the name of a big furry animal, bear functions as a verb. It means to tolerate, to carry something, or to endure. ... The verb bare means to reveal or open something to view.
