Use Sendy + SES. You will never get it cheaper, with better delivery and Ben is great. He can help you set it all up for cheap.

If you don't want that, I can hook you up and you can use my installation - currently I can manage up to around 50K a day:

I am sure I can beat anyone of those that try to pimp overpriced poor solutions. But really, you can get your own for peanuts via Ben (the guy that wrote Sendy).

Both of the above solutions.

If you want to be hands off, go with ynot.

I guarantee you that there is no real competition to this: aws.amazon.com/pricing

I tried them all. Including YNOT.

I thought Sendy was a well kept secret for a couple adult people.

But yes, Sendy is by far the best and cheapest solution.

After spending many years in mailing, figured out most people have no clue what they were doing (including the boldest one!). Biggest email providers like Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and FTC consider email spam a very serious thing, so your newsletters need to be fully compliant. No objection about it. Big porn companies like Bangbros, Reality Kings and others got charged and had to pay a shitload of money for settlements in past. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN-SPAM_Act_of_2003

Setting up a newsletter is not really a big deal. Pretty much anybody familiar with basic system administration could do it.
Knowing what NOT to do with the newsletter in order not to get blacklisted for spam is much more important. You wouldn't like to waste a valuable list of members or get sued, wouldn't you?

Please feel free to hit me up on webmaster [at] sweetlatin {dot} com if interested. No strings attached. Been doing it for affiliate programs for years. I can help you set up the list and manage it.

If you do not want to (or cannot) host your own platform, SendingPros.com is an affordable, hosted option to use with AWS (as well as other SMTP/ESP providers such as Mailgun and Sendgrid or your own SMTP).

I've been in adult mailing and list management for 20+ years and I am always available to help you with set up, warm up, automations, etc. on SendingPros. I can even manage the newsletters for you, if you prefer.

Best of luck! Please contact me with any questions.

Problem with all these "sending" platforms that offer to send and "manage" the list for you is that you eventually give your valuable lists to these people. I never understood how someone can do it unless the list they're dealing in is also bought. If you have your own list of customers that you want to mail, never use 3rd party, always manage it yourself.
If you have few thousand mails to send, it doesn't really matter what you use tho.

This is good stuff.

If you've never sent a newsletter before, it may be a good idea to ask your lawyer to look it over and let you know if it's CAN-SPAM compliant.

It's not just can spam... It's getting around Google, Yahoo, etc spam filters. That is where Marshal knows his stuff. What to include, how much to include, how to avoid getting AWS account closed due to spam reports, excessive bounced-rate, etc. What kinds of images to use. Verbage. Etc.

That as well. A lawyer versed in CAN-SPAM can tell you whether you're OK in terms of the law and a mailing expert pro can help formulate a good newsletter that your subscribers will take note of.

Any tips on getting unsandboxed with SES in 2020? My most recent account I submitted a few different websites and signup forms and explanations of the opt-in process and bounce/complaint handling, and still get this:

"We reviewed your request and determined that your use of Amazon SES could have a negative impact on our service. We are denying this request to prevent other Amazon SES customers from experiencing interruptions in service."

What did you do? Did your complain rate or bounce rate go nuts? I remember using an old list the first time I used them and they shut me down. I contacted their support and told them I had imported an old list and that I had now cleaned it.

But from that day, I never got above the complaint / bounce levels. But then again, in average I only mail 6-10k a day.

This typically happens with a first send. Even if it's a list that is only two years old.

Not necessarily. An email list cleaning service usually comes handy.

I do, all the time. Probably the cheapest and most effective way of mailing for a few years now. Once you get around Amazon's weird naming convention for things that already exist, that is.
If you were referring to the cleaning services, SES doesn't provide such a feature.

I disagree. I've had companies that I've worked for and they've used a "list cleaning service" and... It's created problems.

You want an Adult-friendly platform. Amazon etc is too mainstream unless you are sending out very tame emails, perhaps for dating. Newsletters are generally safe as people willingly signup for them.

I use YNOT Mail.
