Can anyone recommend an online seller of desktop pcs in Canada?

I have a friend there wanting to buy.

Wanting to buy one or to supply an office? We have some surplus office PCs and other equipment as one of our offices is closing at the end of this month. That office is in Vancouver (7 year lease is up and everyone from that office has been reassigned to one of our other spaces or is now working at home).

If its more than one, let me know and I can get our COO in touch with your friend. For a single machine, I'd suggest Amazon.ca

For parts I've been using memoryexpress, not sure if they sell full machines or not. Great prices and really helpful... they have a store just opened in my city too.

Cheaper to just build one. It's quite easy and you get exactly what you need. I have always built my systems.

I built this one with an i9 Intel processor, 64gig DDR4 Ram, 1- 1tb and 1 - 2tb hard drives, Radeon Graphic card with 8gig vram. SOOOOOOO much cheaper to buy the parts, case, power supply etc and assemble than to purchase pre-made with a bunch of garbage you may not need.

Only 2 things to really watch out for... Static with memory and hard drives and the gel on the processor... You want to make sure you get a good covering without overflow onto the motherboard.

I'm sure there are videos on YouTube that can walk you through it.... Once you do it, you will never buy a pre-made system again. ;)

If you search 'linus secret shopper 2020' on youtube it will take you to 4 videos from Linus Tech Tips where he orders 6 PCs from Canadian companies.

He then looks at what value they offered, the condition they were sent in, what was / wasn't good about them, tries the tech support lines etc, and in the final one declares an overall winner for the best value / experience available in the Canadian market during covid.

This is for a mom user with medical issues 10,000 miles from where I live in another country.. So she'll be getting premade with a support package

for anyone else yeah I agree build your own.

Budget is 1k but trying to get a i5, 8gb ram, 1tb ssd lowend new graphics card (GTX 1660 or the likes) and i5 processor

BestBuy.ca she says she can get too locally "Owatta" and they have some good deals but all their sub $1500 systems come with 256 gb ssd

refurbished all have 1tb ssd's I dunno why they don't put them in the new ones..

Oh, that does make a difference

Acer makes a decent machine. I have seen what you have described, refurbished, for 450.00. I believe it is onboard graphics though. Keyboard, mouse, mini-desktop, no monitor.
