New in the business, I think want out already

I thought that it would be a great idea to join the adult industry and earn some extra money which are very useful for me in crisis-ridden Greece. I have bought domains, hosting, relevant software, I put some content in, set up some advertising, I tried to make some publicity, I have read many articles on all these subjects... But all this is overwhelming me as a newbie (in the adult business, not in IT) and I don't have enough time to work on this. I don't have much traffic yet, because I don't know how/where to promote my site efficiently and I feel that I am wasting my time. For sure, an experienced adult webmaster could bring life to my sites easily and quickly.
So, now I am writing in this forum, hoping that someone could enlighten me about the path to follow, or that someone could be interested to buy my domains and website and I go do something else that I do better.
- I could try to do some more promotion, but I am not sure where. I tried reddit, got banned, I don't have time to make multiple accounts, build karma again, etc. I did some SEO too. But I don't have original content, no time for that, I embed from other sites. I haven't tried paid advertising yet, I am afraid that it will be much money for little gain. What else to do?
- or, I could sell my premium domains boy.gay woman.gay women.gay (very short, easy to remember keywords, targeted) along with the websites which contain hosting, paid software, many workhours setting all up. For sure they must be worth something! Even if I don't get what I spent for them, at least I will lower my losses. But, where to sell adult domain+website?

You could try selling in the buy/sell section on here, although it's not that likely you will get much for sites without traffic or revenue...setting up all this stuff is easy enough, its getting the traffic which is everything.

You are hosting on what, a $5.95 cloud host (TMD)? First load in my browser I shut down because after a count to 20 nothing had loaded yet. Either tune out your wordpress or get on a better host.

Don't know what software you invested in, the theme? $24 for that. The Wordpress should have been free.

So it appears to me that you spent perhaps an hour or 2 on the boy.gay site. You spent about 5 minutes on the woman.gay site and about 30 seconds redirecting women.gay to boy.gay (why would you even do that?) You bought 3 domains ($18.00 at namesilo $6 a piece for .gay). Spent $6.00 a month for hosting for 6 months so $36.00 there and $24 for a theme, so about $78 dollars in total and about 2 hours and you are giving up?

You implied you have IT experience, you should have been able to do a whole lot better than that in 6 months.

As far as money coming in goes, it often takes 6 months or more to gain decent traffic to a site unless you buy a shitload of links. You have a total of 3 backlinks according to SEMRUSH so it appears that you made no real effort to build any links either.

In this life you tend to get out of it what you put into it. You haven't (from all appearances) put shit's worth of effort into this so why should you expect anything but shit back ? (don't get excited CS, just an expression).

I'll give you $10 for the whole mess right now and it isn't worth that.

I suggest that you start learning about affiliate marketing (in the adult vertical) because this is how you can have profits.

Bring traffic to your website through advertising networks - with ad spots (banners, popunders e.t.c.) or whatever you know best

The more quality traffic you have the more conversions you will have ;)

Here, I am not asking someone to guide me in everything from zero to hero. But some simple advice would be very useful, like: for promotion, insist/forget reddit, try this or that site, pay/not pay for advertising here or there, for monetizing try crakrevenue or this or that, etc

I have also thought paying some guy for guidance, for example the onlineadrian guy, but I don't know if he will tell me something that I haven't read about already. But if you think that having paid guidance by that guy or other is a good idea, maybe I can try it.

Pay him just $1 because it was all too fast and easy... for him.

OK. Here's something you can try that wont cost you a penny and wont take up any of your time either.

Point your domains to https://hostedtube.com (No Ref Link - Genuine suggestion)

Fill in all the setup so as you can get credit for everything. Then you will instantly have legal, fully managed tubes on your domains. You will get paid commission for signups to sponsors and money for advertising clicks too. Hosted Tube is run by PimpRoll, a very well respected company and if your domains are as good as you think they are, you will be getting the kinda money you want each month.

Why I say 'fully managed' is because you really dont need to do a thing to the tubes, but you can of course add your own links etc if you choose to. So you can either step away and forget about them (That's what I do) or you can promote your tubes etc to try and bring extra traffic - Up to you... If it works out, buy me a beer. If it doesn't, well hey-ho, at least you tried, then go back to trying something else.

That was sarcasm. Your sites are not worth the $10.

I pay my doctor a good rate because she knows what she is doing. she spent time, effort and money going to medical school in order to be able to bill out at the amount she charges. I guarantee you that she did not get to charge that rate the day she set foot out of medical school, during her internship or during her first few jobs with whatever practices she worked for before she started her own.

You are wanting to charge for your learning curve. If an experienced webmaster can do in minutes what you can do in months then I would only pay the amount that the experienced webmaster would charge me for the task because I should not have to pay for your learning curve.

It would be different if I asked you to do something for me and you said "well, I don't know how to do that" and I said, well try it anyway. Then by all means you should charge for the learning curve, but that is not the situation here.

What you have can be acheived in an hour or 2 so why should anybody pay more than that for it?

You've bought three overpriced domains and you don't even care enough to develop more than one of them, so why do you expect anyone else to care?

Your "paid software" is free Wordpress + plus a $24 script. I could genuinely pass three Captchas more quickly than your site takes to load (as a real surfer I'd have just closed the tab) and all your "effort" was entirely for yourself, to make money for yourself, so why should anyone else pay you for that?

CS's advice is a good idea, at least if your names were $8 .COMs, where you'd have some breathing room to try and test.

Ufortunately I think your names cost you about $700, $250 and $250, if not more, and will renew at those prices in a few months. This means nobody will buy them (unless you fail to mention that small detail), and it means you only have a limited time to try stuff out before you let them expire, which you should.

TL;DR: You basically have only one option: cut your losses, move on and put this down as a learning experience.

If you want to stay in adult though, and/or try CS suggestion, or anything else where your potential visitors are not from a specific country, do buy anything other than .COM.

My only other suggestion, since your domains are not actually specifically adult names, is put up mainstream sites with information, resources, articles, news with mainstream advertising (maybe use the less Amazon-friendly 'boy.gay' as CS idea).

I was wrong when I said $6.00. You can get many of them for $6.00 but the premium prices are very strange indeed.

Thanks for leaving out the typo in the first word. There's also another mistake, where it should of course read "do NOT buy anything other than .COM". Not a hard and fast rule, since there are other decent extensions, but it's cheap and everyone knows it.

If my final paragraph below isn't the case, he should probably shell out another $8 for a .com and try your suggestion, which will load faster and allow him to cancel his hosting (if possible), and then just redirect his three names to the .com, until they expire.

Yeah it's normal for these new extensions (or even something like .CO) to have different pricing for any remotely decent keyword, but unusual for the renewal to be the same price.

His names seem to be registered at Porkbun (which AIUI is owned by the company that runs .gay) and are slightly cheaper than Namesilo. But since man.gay is the same price as boy.gay at Namesilo, and at Porkbun it's $700, I estimated his prices that way.
