I just came back from an East Coast road trip. NY, RI, CT, MA, NH, VT, and Maine.

Very few people wearing masks.

Vaccinated people still spread the virus.

The outbreak here in Sydney started by an American aircrew is a good indication as to what you'll get elsewhere, we started from 0 and with no covid in the community, it was fairly easy to trace every case, and watch the virus spread virtually in real-time.

Because of Australia's Murdoch appointed Republican ideology Government fuckups only around 10% here are vaccinated.

Currently, there's 2437 cases
207 in hospital
49 in ICU

In total there have been 8,118 cases and from that 66 deaths
so.. 8118/66 a 1/123 Chance of Dying if you catch covid.

Which while bad is certainly better than the USA where you've had 34.6M cases / 611K deaths = 1/56.6 chance of dying.

Mask up, get your Vax.

Right now in BC, Canada, we have mixed messaging from the provincial health authority.

They relaxed mask mandates, but "recommend" wearing masks indoors, unless a person has been "double dosed" - no proof required.

However, the Provincial Health Officer, who presumably is doubled dose vaccinated claims to wear masks indoors.

Over the past year, it became clear that "mandatory, with fines" worked and the vast majority of people observed this, but "be kind, and please wear a mask" was interpreted as do whatever you want, as evidenced by the hordes of unmasked and skyrocketing numbers.

Now, there is talk of reinstating masks in the fall, even with large portion of population vaccinated.

There is a growing sentiment, by public health officials and mainstream media, and vaccinated mobs, that COVID cases now are mostly because of unvaccinated people.

The "be kind" thing that was a trademark of BC's approach to COVID, seems to be quickly evaporating, and when the numbers start going through the roof again in November, there will be full-on hate by vaxxed against ALL unvaxxed (even those who have always observed non-biologically intrusive measures to prevent transmission - safe distance, self-isolation, masks, limited indoor public exposures).

There was a press briefing yesterday, which was more a rally for one final push to "jab" the remaining population, before fall.

When asked if third doses will be available to people (with mixed doses) who wish to comply with international travel "COVID Passports", without hesitation the Health Officer explained that it was not a good idea because three doses is likely to result in serious "adverse reaction" - apparently three is not the charm with the vaccines.

The messaging from all sides is mixed, confusing, and inconsistent.

I am not looking forward to late fall 2021.

In Holland they finally see that when you stop super-spreader events, like discos and indoor events, that the hospitals can get up. They opened up everything and after a spike, an all time high, numbers now going down. The elderly and weak are vaccinated (if they want) and young people will hardly have any problems beating the corona.

Ofcourse there is a spike, when all people suddenly start testing cause they want to go on holiday. Looks like more people are able to fight the corona, with or without vaccine now the risk group is vaccinated. Therefor some countries already started looking at peoples in hospitals, not how many are/were infected.

in Holland a journalist was able to go to court and see the stats of the dutch statistic agency. They calculated that the lockdowns costed more lives than saved lives, looking at quality of life. That is logic when you lockdown the whole world to protect 75+ elderly with underlying disease. Instead all waiting for a vaccine we could have opened up and protect them in other ways. Now they even want to turn it around, the young and healthy are forced to take an experimental vaccine for a virus they hardly notice, to protect the obese elderly that are vaccinated...

Here in Greece u MUST wear mask when u go inside supermarkets, stores, hospitals, doctors, gov offices etc.

Also if u want to sit inside a coffee shop, restaurant etc, u must be vaccinated or have it covid free pass if u passed covid. Same and for sports stadiums, 15 days after 2nd dose, or negative PCR test, or pass which tells that u passed covid.

Now for walking outside u can wear it or not, is any person decision this.

I am full vaccinated with AstraZeneca and I use mask when somewhere is crowded and of course when I go for shopping.
