Is Google Privacy Sandbox a threat to affiliate marketing?

They plan to phase out cookies from their Chrome browser. This would obviously hit affiliate sales massively. Are there any plans for workarounds if it happens, or do we just wait until the shit hits the fan like usual?

Third party cookies do not really affect most affiliates, especially in adult.

Yes. This is made in order to stop trackers like facebook, where when someone put "FB Share" button on website , FB is then using it to track user behavior , like which sites are visited.

Yes, you couldn't even login to GFY to post this thread without cookies. Normal cookies (which affiliate tracking software uses) are not going anywhere.

Mainstream affiliates who rely on FB interest targeting and lookalike audiences will get less targeted clicks.
