'Global Supply Chain Issues' - Real or not?

What are your folks thoughts on the current 'global supply chain' problems that we keep being told is ongoing?

Personally, I think there are a few issues but that a LOT of companies have used this as an excuse to provide shitty customer service and less products while raising retail prices, thoughts?

I'm waiting for some adult program to make an announcement they cant send payouts due to the supply chain issues

Pure bullshit, you're totally right. They are simply using the current world situation (pandemic problems, which led to economic "problems", blah blah...).

When there is price inflation (caused by excessive money printing), it can always be said to be "supply chain" problems. Here's the short:

Too much money means more people want to buy goods (demand goes up). When demand for goods goes up, there is pressure to increase supply. If you can't increase supply, then prices must go up.

When prices go up because supply can't be increased to meet higher demand, then you *could* say that the "supply chain" is broken because it can't deliver the full demand for product.

The supply chain isn't broken. There has simply been too much money printing in the past decade, and it has caused price inflation. That money printing can't be blamed by politicians so instead they scapegoat to say "supply chain" is broken.

I personally know people who used to pay $6k to get a shipping container from China and now pay $30k, and have to wait longer. I imagine that scales.

It is real i also sell building materials. Right now cannot supply loads of materials have money have orders in waiting on supply. If it is fake each supplier misses out as sell multiple times more than what is on each back order. Putting price up 20% etc doesn't equate to same money when can sell 100%+ more with stock.

people are causing the issue to be bigger than it should be. People right now are panic buying things that they don't need and it's causing issues with the supply. News sources are telling people not to buy things they don't need but people are stockpiling things that they think they will run out of. If people just bought what they needed this issue would be fixed in 3 mos

I think that when enough people get sick of wearing masks and hiding under their beds
that all these problems will start to clear up really damn fast.

I tend to agree with this.

After the recent hurricane in New Orleans it was crazy, gas, toilet paper, canned goods, people were hoarding the shit like crazy literally wiping out entire shelves in one swoop... For absolutely no reason other than panick buying

where I live there's been some supply chain challenges but so many peeps lost their jobs or are experiencing dramatic reductions in income due to rona no one can afford to hoard anything. if anything people are buying far less than pre-virus, and buying local more often

hence there's no practical difference in access to anything. yes import costs have risen but that's due to the global situation. what impacts the world impacts us

the economics of human psychology...
