Getting an ebike seems nuts
A decent ebike in the UK seems to be about £2000 to £3000 or more. Most have a range of 30 to 70 miles, but you have to pedal, and max speed is about 15mph and you have to cycle.
The batteries have only a few years shelf life. In a few years when your battery dies, will you still get a replacement? Not to mention in two years will your ebike look aged. A bit like having a 486 pc today. Yet you can get a petrel scooter for £2500 and cost to fuel it, probably not much more than to charge an ebike, yet you can keep going and going. Just pop in a petrel station. I suspect that a scooter will still be going in 30 years with thousands of miles (as long as you service it). I suspect most ebikes will not last more than 5 years. I would have to think how long an electric car will last. While a car can last you years and years, I wonder how long battery car costing £60k will last. That said, if you live in such as London, and you travel in and out of London, it probably is worth getting an ebike. Saves you a lot of grief on tubes and roads, as well as money and time. But a normal bike just seems easer, unless your in a very hilly area.

You can use an ebike in places you cannot use a petrol scooter.

Just steal someone elses - Then you dont need to worry about initial costs, servicing it, or battery life - Once it stops working, just steal another one... Simples...
