Andy Greenberg on tracing bitcoin.

I read two of his books. Great stuff.

Very interesting interview.

I always tune in when theories on "who is Satoshi" pop up. I've always thought it's either Kleiman, Finney, or a group, a group being less likely because more chance of a leak. There would never be an admission of creating Bitcoin unless someone is on their death bed, but even then I find it highly doubtful. What Greenberg says about Finney is convincing. He admits he's fully convinced it's not Finney. Which makes me think even more that it is Kleiman.

The other mention is a clear fraud, that is Craig (faketoshi) who claims he's satoshi for financial gain.

.... and so, the mystery remains!

Bitcoin is a joint operation between the CIA, MI6 and MOSSAD

it was designed and implemented for the sole purpose of tracking illicit activity on the internet

it is considered to be one of the most successful operations in CIA history

I believe that theory is absurd because the more agencies, orgs & humans behind the Bitcoin project would lead to mistakes. Whether it be somebody leaking information, one pointing the finger at another, demanding financial gain to whomever holds the private keys, etc etc

15 years something would have been exposed or a coins moved. But no, nothing.

Satoshi most likely a single person, or duo at most, and he/her/they are dead.

RIP Satoshi.

For 60 years you'd be called a CT nutter if you even mentioned that CIA was involved with murder of JFK. You conspiracy theorist!!! Seriously though, imagine how many other "events" that are labelled CT that that kind of lie & coverup applies to. (ahem)

But you made a good point. If they were involved with its creation that could be revealed after many decades when it's such an old story that nobody cares anymore.

I still believe just 1-2 person created it.

People like Adam Back who almost single handedly built HashCash, which was similar PoW like BTC. And with PoW means no matter who created it, it is meant to benefit the people, because even the creator(s) are unable to counterfeit or control it. This leads to another topic of why PoW is so important and Proof of Stake (PoS) is an extension of the current corruptible fiat system.

I can see this. Maybe NSA and 8200 as well. For years I was lead to believe it could not be traced.
Very few security issues with bitcoin. Designed too well.

Bitcoin is pseudonymous but it can be made anon with use of tools. And it's still a terrible use for criminals, paper money is still the best for that. Once our govs force us all into adopting CBDC's we'll have ONLY Bitcoin for any chance of private transactions (with use of tools).

There are several wallets that give you a different receiving address each time you request one and a different sending address each time you send

There are exchanges that can easily be used with fake data

So how is any of that traceable? No tumblers, or privacy coins etc needed

Sending BTC to/from freshly generated addresses can keep you anon for a while. But if you decide to cash out to fiat currency is when your identity can be revealed, because most exchanges are now KYC, so someone connected to those BTC will have an identity attached.

Are you in the US? Maybe it is easy in the US too. But I don't want to go there.
