Desktop version vs Mobile version
Hello all
can there be difference between backend source code of desktop version and mobile version of the same site, or the backend source code is always the same for both versions and the difference is only in the frontend apparence ? |

anything is possible but having separate systems for mobile and desktop (web) is generally pretty inefficient.
if mobile and desktop have different functionality, they might have separate backends, but then they'd technically be different sites with different missions. #

Google bitchslapped a whole lot of website a few years ago for showing different content on mobile vs normal. I remember a sponsor program for tubes or something and everyone got deindexed for it.

Quoted for truth. As of today, around 46% of traffic is mobile. Maybe if it was higher, the ROI would be there for separate systems
