they are trying to extend the conflict.
Basically their grand strategy is probably based on the number of weapons/population of their country. They probably bet that our population dont wish so much to fight, besides by proxy and that overall the countries that are ready to fight with china or Russia are more populated. This means that one of the side wants WW3, but that they want to attract us in it... |

If you think we're going to turn Iran into a parking lot over that, you're dumber than I thought.
I'm sure the US Navy will delete some radar stations and other infrastructure soon, but that's not going to start a war. Now... kill a few hundred soldiers at once, then Iran will probably meet some US Marines pretty quickly. |
