how to check if i have a usb 2.0 port..
anybody know how? i have 4 plugs.. 1 of the has to be a 2.0, this 1.0 shit is taking to long, i have to transfer 100 gigs of content to a removeable hd, and it's been transfering for 10 hours and is only 20 gigs done.. how can i check if i got a usb 2.0 port?

The plugs are the same. A USB 1.0 plug and a USB 2.0 plug look exactly the same. It's not up to the plug how fast data is transferred but rather up to the Operating System you are running. I believe Windows 2000 and above can support USB 2.0. You to go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to download all necessary patches to enable USB 2.0 speeds on your computer. If you have Windows 98, Windows 98SE or Windows ME you will only be able to get USB 1.0 speeds. Of course your hardware needs to support USB 2.0 also which many hardware purchased within the past two years do.
