I think it's more decades of a slow burn into lack of illiteracy, then when you call it out someone says you're a nerd while they post from their shitty Hyundai Elantra on their cracked iphone.

Loose - meaning she sleeps around or her ropes are coming off
Lose - is when the escort debits your card for $35,000 instead of $350 for the half hour.

This has been a stone in my shoe for quite some time now! I always explain it this way to the young and/or illiterate:

Win or LOSE your mom's pussy is still LOOSE.

Get it? Got it? Good!

If anyone's feeling brave they could try explaining when to use "it's" with an apostrophe and when to use "its" without one.

it's annoying to me when people misspell 'lose'

a contraction of 'it is', or a possessive as in belonging to someone or something

the baby goat that eats my carrots is adorable. its tail wagging makes me laugh

its is used mostly used for non living or gender non-specific stuff in place of his, her, their

all this stuff really doesn't annoy me. just baffling how first-lang english speakers can't master 3 and 4 letter words

I honestly thought the whole loose vs lose thing might just be an internet trend or something, it occurs so frequently

At this point, I've embraced some aspects of Idiocracy and let spell-check & autocorrect handle most of it. It's kept me out of trouble with the spelling police. Especially on mobile. Typing on a glass screen without spell-check and autocorrect training wheels seems impossible for me.

possessive nouns can often refer to inanimate stuff in one's possession

it's/its is way more complicated than loose/lose. those latter two words are pronounced differently, y'all who do this know this

but Mark isn't incorrect

It is "it kept me from" . . . Mark was just being a playful kang.

'it' would be past tense. 'it's' signifies the possessive in something ongoing

yes

still correct. he was referring to a 'thing' that is keeping him out of trouble with the spelling police

he's correct

I wouldn't wish ESL on anyone as it's third place to Mandarin and Cantonese, but come on

I really don't care about any of this, now that I know what's up with that extra 'o'

funny though

and again, KM not incorrect

I'm really not the spelling police, just wondered about why all of a sudden ery'one uses an extra vowel

probs all the offenders on auto correct and they're like, whelp got an L and a O and as S and a E in it. the extra O makes it cooler

you're discussing this with a person with a dislike for capital letters and does weird framing of paragraphs

I'll be the first one they come for

but KM is correct either way

I'm meeting my not-bf's (my choice) mom tomorrow. will be super nervous as moms are not in the same category as the rest of us. have met her daughters/nephews/nieces and good reviews apparently. likewise, I like his people. just want a relationship right now

tomorrow we'll be talking and no one will give a fuck about apostrophes in Patois or english

looking forward to spending time with her cuz she probs has a lot tell me about her 75 years in JA

already nervous. confident it will go fine and be fun though

your weed is too strong. makes me fuck up my spelling or drop pertinent words like 'don't' in my previous post. then I get lost in a wicked track and kitten scritching and by the time I've noticed my error the edit window has passed
