Your best Digital Nomad experiences? And advice for others.

Dear reader,

This is my 5th post, so people can PM me. I will hangout in this section of the forum.
My business is called Tebux, you can check it on any search engine.

Would love to contribute to the forum. You can find me here:

Question of the day is:
What are your best Digital Nomad experiences? And do you have some advice for fellow digital nomads?
can talk about two countries I stayed for a while, Portugal and the Philippines.

Portugal
I went there for a job with Teleperformance. Huge company, 8 billion revenue.
Long story short, I quit during first week of training. Because I can not live with 15
roommates. Anyways, decided to stay a bit longer, had 2 days to pack my bags. Quickly
research their top rental site, Idealista (tip, for Spain as well). From Lisbon, I decided a
tourist spot might be best. Since I only know English. So I followed the coastline, and
Peniche it is.

It is a 365/year round surfing town with people from all over the world.
The first hostel was very strict, but I had my own bathroom/shower for 400/month.
Relocated to a spot for 350/month with its own bathroom, balcony, tv, heater, fresh
linens, no rules, fast Wifi. Cool community of surfers & skaters. The food is fresh, the fish
is next level. People are super nice. 6 euro’s for laundry, 12,50 for a relaxing haircut.
I can recommend it. Stayed there for 7 months.

Philippines
As a Dutch/Filipino, next time I go, I’ll stay! You can stay tax free for 180 days,
so what a lot of digital nomads do is a quick “country hop”. Thailand/Indonesia is closeby.
My solo trip for 6 months was when I went to Angeles City. Sort of like the Bangkok or
Las Vegas of the Philippines. Checked into my “hostel”, it was a full resort. Infinity pools,
gyms, restaurants, barbershop, sportsbar, views for days. The monthly rent was midrange
for a condo, 650$.

Electricity is expensive, so my tip is to unplug the fridge. Get local nice food instead.
Get some simple fans instead of air conditioning. Get the local big water jugs
instead of boiling drinking water. Met a bunch of worldwide people. Your euro/dollar/dinero is just worth so much more.
Filipino’s are so friendly and English is widely spoken. I miss the fresh fruits, the nature, the swimming.
Plenty of entertainment with huge malls and big events.

Digital Nomad Advice
Personally I wonder about solar power evolution, and how services like Starlink internet
hold up. I will go back to basics, but I’m wondering what your experiences with living
abroad are. From Digital Nomads with a backpack that visited the coolest spots, to those
fully immigrated living abroad. Perhaps someone is tiny living from a mobile home, which
feels like the future. Share anything, what were some of your favorite gadgets/equipment
along the way?

Hope everyone succeeds with their projects, dreams and goals in life!
Already met some cool people through here. Feels like a hub for digital nomads.
Thanks for reading!
Kind regards,
Johan
